"bad customer service"
Don't expect good customer service or for them to stand behind their product. We used throughout the house in new construction and what a headache -- some cabinets sized wrong, even the ones custom done. Super slow, grudging response. We had Thomasville where we used to live and they stood behind their cabinets 10 years after the fact when not even their issue - the flooring guys damaged one! Those were great quality and great service. Medallion is nothing like that.

"Love Our Medallion Cabinets"
It's very surprising to see some of the not-so-stellar reviews but I can say my experience with Medallion cabinetry has been wonderful. We recently bought a new house with all kitchen, bathroom, and utility rooms done with these cabinets and they are phenomenal. The dovetail joins, solid wood, and beautiful finish are a step above any cabinets we've ever had before and truly feel like "furniture".

"Worst cabinet compamy"
I bought a 35,000 custom kitchen with medallion cabinets. They came not correctly highlighted which they never repaired after emails and calls.6 months later almost every cabinet has started to bubble and delaminate. When I called the rep came out and stated, that should have never happened. A day later I got a phone call stating I watered my kitchen and they wouldn't cover a thing. These cabinets are terrible and so is their warranty and customer service. Stay away!

"Warning: Medallion Cabinetry is 'American-made' embarrassment! Do Not purchase!!"
* Product line knowledge is inconsistent and inept from multiple Menards locations kitchen dept. salespeople * Puny Menards showroom finish samples do NOT accurately represent the final factory finish product * Regional factory representative assistance is either hands-off with vague factory communications - OR - the factory follow-thru is faulty; you decide. * Factory-direct phone assistance is arduous and uninformed; supplying contrary and inaccurate details * Finally, cabinet assembly production is inferior, and shipped out with missing glide hardware! A Complete Failure!! Do NOT purchase!!!

"Potters Mill Sea Salt"
Terrible cabinets. Purchased Potters Mill SeaSalt for my large kitchen renovation. I spent a small fortune on these cabinets. The paint it already chipping. The doors don't hang correctly. I was sold a high quality long lasting cabinet and they are junk. Don't waste your time or hard earned cash on these cabinets. I feel like I was sold a Cadillac but ended up with a broken down Chevy!

"Poor quality - stain, cabinet irregularities. Inflated cost."
This is out second Medallion Kitchen. We were very pleased with the first time around (2015), but the second time (2020) - disappointed does not begin to describe our feelings. There is such a difference in the quality of these cabinets since US-American ACProducts acquired the company. We ordered from the Gold line, with a few extra upgrades, spending over $20,000. Our chief issues were: extremely uneven staining, streaks of white showing through the dark stain on half of the doors!, rough edges on the doors, dings in 4 of the doors, cracks in the end panel of the island, and door sizes that were not fabricated to specific spec. size. In early march, we worked with our designer to rectify the problems, and they ordered new doors for us. They handed it off to a sales rep. in our area, and she visited us to take a look at things. She promised to send out someone to *touch up* the staining issues - not sure how that is even possible - but said it would be June by the time the workers were able to come, due to covid. Of course, they have never followed up, and we six months down the road. Very disappointed - this is not worth the money we paid. Not the same quality that we saw in 2015 - they have really slipped. I would have bought from a big box store, to be honest if I had known this is what we would be getting. Actually - we Did buy Schuler cabinets for our bathrooms, and they are a lower level cabinet. However, there is no difference in the construction or even the quality of the cherry or stain. If we had ordered Schuler from Lowes for our kitchen, we would have gotten the same thing for significantly less. I am sure of that. . I feel badly for the kitchen design people. They are great folks, and they have been forced to stand up for a product that seems to be less than what they were selling a few years ago. Main problems: Cost, quality control and customer service. Medallion, you are not what you used to be. Customers - do your homework. Let our experience be a warning before paying out $$$$ for these cabinets.

"Solid furniture for your kitchen"
I can't say enough good things about our new kitchen. Our contractor installed everything quickly and said he liked working with Medallion because they're well built cabinets and install easily. We're in love with all the soft close drawers! I'll sometimes just open and close a drawer to watch it close! Yes, it's silly I know, but this is the first new-new kitchen I've ever had!

"Disappointed"
Our white Medallion cabinets were installed 3.5 years ago. The paint finish is starting to come off near the edges and handles. We had a service representative come out yesterday who said it was due to water damage. This even so in areas of the kitchen where water is not around. The warranty is useless when they claim the damage is due to water. The service rep also said that the steam from the dishwasher could have caused the paint issue. Are you kidding me?? Apparently these cabinets are only good if you don't cook and clean in your kitchen.

"New condo kitchen"
Found these cabinets through a friend after she used them in her kitchen. They are really quite nice, and all the doors and drawers are 'no-slam' so they close quietly each time. We added several added features and organizers, which I have put to good use!

"Beautiful oak cabinets"
We finally redid our kitchen. Our contractor recommended several different kinds of cabinets. We chose medallion after seeing them in a show room. The oak style we picked out (quarters cut) is a show stopper! The grain is so rich. We are really happy with our new kitchen!

"Great construction"
We choose white cabinets for most of our kitchen and went with our designers recommendation of having an 'accent' island in a different color. We saw the Appalloosa weathered stain cabinet in their show room and fell in love. You can really tell how each cabinet is aged by hand. Our kitchen is so much better now!

"Beautiful, well-made cabinets! Great customer service too!"
We've had our new kitchen for about a year now and I love it! With grandkids running around, the whole place takes a beating and the cabinets just wipe clean. Just after hosting several holiday parties (at which I received several compliments about my kitchen) I noticed that one of the cabinet drawers wasn't working right. I called medallion's customer service line and the man I spoke with was so nice! He took his time, listened to me, and with just a couple questions he figured out exactly what I needed. I got an envelope in the main just a few days later with the right parts! Love my new kitchen and my Medallion cabinets!

"Negative Medallion reviews"
I am a 62 year old kitchen designer, selling primarily Medallion cabinets at Builders First Source store in Fergus Falls MN. I have a 26 year background in manufacturing, and I have extensive experience with quality control, quality improvement, process improvement, etc. I have toured the Medallion factory in Waconia Minnesota, and I was very impressed with their system of process, and quality control. This makes me wonder why there are so many negative reviews. I actually feel terrible for each and every person that is having a bad experience, since it is so much the complete opposite of what I deal with on a daily basis. My sales representative never fails to answer his phone or call me back within a reasonable time frame. My customer service rep at the factory, Miranda, is an absolute sweetheart, and responds immediately and professionally, and never questions any issue that might come up. Of course any company that is producing a large product, putting it in a box, and shipping it across country could and will have occasional issues, and it is how they handle that issue that should be how they are ultimately viewed. I am wondering what percentage of the cabinets that have negative reviews came from a purchase made at a box store, ie. Menards, or Home Depot? Since I am in the lumber yard industry, I will tell you that many products that are made for the box stores are made differently than for other markets. Its true. You would think however that if they were going to make a cheaper product, they wouldn't want their name on it! That "Larson" store door at HD that looks identical to the one that I get $75.00 more for? Not the same product inside. That said - if you get cabinets that do not have a finished end where one belongs, that is on your sales person, not the factory. Missing doors? Damage? I do not know what to say, other than that I sell a lot of cabinets, and I just have not see it from Medallion. FYI - I am very picky and I have high expectation for my customers, who have trusted me to get their kitchen "right". Deal with an independent shop and spend a lot of time going over the drawing with your sales person. I'm telling you, when I call my rep or customer service person with any kind of issue, even if it isn't Medallions fault, they are very responsive, and do anything they can to help. When I say that I am referring to the occasional installer goof up, freight damaged cabinet, etc. Good luck all.

"I can't get no satisfaction, and I try, and I try"
I have had several issues. the most important, and the one I reached out to have medallion AKA Elkay repair under the limited life time warranty. It took about 18 months for a rep to finally come to my house. I got the run around. 1st the receptionist gave me a nonworking e=mail to send pictures of the cabinets. This happened twice. She was defensive and stated, " I have their cabinets and they are just fine" I reached out to a sales member on the internet pretending to be a perspective client. when he responded I used his e-mail to send my pictures, and asked they be forwarded to the appropriate dept. I finally got someone on he phone besides the receptionist. she informed me the rep for my area as on vacation. I waited, no call, so I called back. This time I was told she maternity leave, but would be back in a couple of weeks, I waited, no call , I called back. This time I was informed the rep had complications in her pregnancy, so it would be a little longer before someone could contact me. I waited, and waited , and waited, and I called back. Now nobody knows who I spoke to, but my area has been redistrict, and gave me the number to a new rep. I spoke to her once.I believe it was this rep who readily agreed to replace them because there were so many cabinets failing. She said she was over booked, but would get back to me in a couple of weeks. I didnt speak to her again until after I ;left a message on the CEO's vm asking him to intervene One I had not dealt with before, or so I think. She came out, took some pics and asked to take a door for lab analysis. I said sure thankful that we would finally find out why my cabinets are yellow and the MDF portion of my shaker cabinets bubble and then begin to peal away. They were only interested in proving it was cigarette smoke, and I gave them the smoking gun, There were no other analysis done. They only tested for nicotine. I find that suspect! It started with the lower cabinets, and is now beginning to happen on the upper cabinets. I even have some bubbling on the panel next to my stove. I have cracks in drawer bottoms where the tracks are laid for the pull outs. Weak wood, or not predrilling holes could be the only cause. I dont know what their explanation is because they didnt even bother addressing this.

"Quality control"
Wish I had found this site before committing to Medallion cabinets. Unfortunately we are experiencing some of the same issues as many have noted on this site. We are updating our kitchen, which is not huge by any means, (9 uppers and 8 lower) and so far we have had to send back four doors and two drawer fronts due to defects. It's been four weeks now and we still have not received the replacements. After reading many of the reviews I'm not excited about their longevity either. Very disappointed.

"Warranty update: "Defective finish completely worn off - awaiting warranty settlement""
As I promised, this is an update to my previous post with the result of my warranty claim. The good news is Medallion responded within several days. Unfortunately they claim this problem is normal wear & tear. In other words, they fully expect the finish on their high-end cabinets will wear off wherever hands contact the wood. I wish we had known that before we purchased them but of course they don't advertise the inconvenient truth that Medallion cabinets are junk. My advise is do not waste your money on them or you will regret it.

"Defective finish completely worn off - awaiting warranty settlement"
Today I filed a warranty claim with our local Medallion dealer. Obviously I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of Medallion cabinets. Now let's see whether they honor their warranty. I will post again as soon as this is resolved. Buyer beware! Read all about it: "With this message and supporting attachments we are filing a warranty claim for defective materials and workmanship on the Medallion Designer kitchen cabinets that we purchased from [redacted] in December 2004. The attached pictures show the Brandywine stain on 44 different doors and drawers has either completely worn off or is in the process of wearing off every place where hands have contacted the wood. This defect makes our expensive and once beautiful cabinets look cheap, ugly, and needing to be repaired or replaced. They embarrass us when we have houseguests and we regret our decision to purchase them. Only 7 doors appear to not be affected by this defect but that's because they are seldom used. It's reasonable to conclude that all the doors, drawers, and the framing suffer the same defect in materials and workmanship, therefore this warranty claim includes all the doors, drawers, and framing on these cabinets. In accordance with the limited lifetime warranty included with these cabinets we expect [redacted] and Medallion Cabinetry, Inc. to promptly process this warranty claim and redress this unfortunate situation by either repairing or replacing these cabinets. Please acknowledge you received this claim. Also let us know when we can expect a resolution."

"Worst cabinets ever"
The lack of quality in these cabinets is astonishing. Waited for 3 months to get replacements for broken cabinets and flawed doors, the replacement doors were worse than what I had. Absolutely no quality control. Would never buy these again. We were horribly disappointed in the quality and finishing of the cabinets.
