Decora Kitchen Cabinets
Decora is a manufacturer of hardwood cabinets for homes. They create cabinets based on customer specifications of style, wood type, and finish. The company offers over twenty styles and several types of hardwood including maple, cherry, alder, rustic alder, oak, HIckory, and MDF (a type of fiberboard). Although Decora's finishes have traditionally emphasized various shades of natural wood coloring, brown, and off-white, the company recently introduced a variety of new color and finish techniques. Styles of doors and drawers come are available from modern to classic.
History of Decora
The Decora line was started in 1976 by the Aristokraft company. In 1988, American Brands acquired Aristokraft, including the Decora division. American Brands was changed to Fortune Brands and in 1998, MasterBrands formed as the cabinetry subsidiary of Fortune Brands. Decora is now part of MasterBrands, which is the second largest producer of cabinets in North America.
Where Decora Cabinets are Sold
Decora cabinets are available through a number of authorized dealers throughout the United States. Most of these dealers specialize in home cabinetry and have showrooms where customers can view samples and layout designs.
Warranty Information
Decora cabinets purchased after 2001 come with a limited lifetime warranty which covers defects in cabinets' workmanship and materials for as long as the original purchaser owns their home. It does not cover damage due to improper use or installation, accidents, or normal wear. Products covered by the warranty will be replaced free of charge.
