"GREAT CABINETS"
We are a remodeling firm specializing in high end resort properties. For years we sold cabinets from one of the largest manufacturers in the United States. The quality was okay but the customer service was not. Because we could not get the manufacturer to provide the level of service we needed, we were sometimes hampered in providing our clients the very best as well. Wellborn cabinets is totally different. The Wellborn family owns and operates a state of the art facility in Alabama. They provide a great product which ships in three weeks with almost no damage or other issues. The entire staff is knowledgeable and able to provide product information as well as great training for dealers. We love this company and our clients do too!!

"The best cabinet I have ever installed"
Being a contractor, I have installed many different brands of cabinets. Wellborn is by far the best cabinet (for the money) that I have installed. My company now almost exclusively installs Wellborn cabinets.

"Wellborn is awesome!"
Installed Wellborn Premier Series Savannah (cherry & maple), Hawthorne, Rose Hall, and Seville in my last home and was extremely satisfied. I used Creme Mocha, Cafe, Vintage Midnight, and Pimento Charcoal for my finishes. They were very high end looking and cost a fraction of some of the competitors for an apples to apples product. Solid wood doors and a limited lifetime warranty were standard, & they had more insert options than kraftMaid. They held up wonderfully and the finish was extremely durable (2 dogs and a toddler). I am sure that most of these unsatisfied reviews on this site are people confusing Wellborn with Wellborn Forest - they are two unrelated companies, and there isn't a Wellborn Forest tab to select when doing reviews.

"Wonderful Wellborn Cabinets"
I've had Welllborn cabinets (maple) for over a year and am very pleased with their appearance and performance. There were many styles and options and my contractor helped me select cabinets within my budget. I have had no issues with my Wellborn cabinets, recommend them to friends and family, and would buy this brand again.

"Wellborn cabinets"
I am shocked to hear negative reviews on Wellborn. I had new stained cherry cabinets installed in my kitchen about 5 years ago and could not be happier. Not only are they high quality, they look wonderful. The finish is beautiful and the hinges and drawers operate so smoothly. When i initially did my research on cabinets I found another cabinet manufacturer named "Wellborn Forest" and heard nothing good about them. I believe that some of these bad reviews must be these other cabinets. I had wonderful service from my Wellborn certified contractor and their dealer. Put me down as a very happy Wellborn customer :)

"Wellborn Stands Behind there Product"
I have been selling Wellborn for 8 years, I have visited there plant a min. of twice every year. There isnt another cabinet manufacturer out there like it. I represent three other companies as well and none of them go thru the education, customer service, and quality like Wellborn does. They have over 21 inspectors that view there product before it even leaves the plant. They are the only family owned business with over 49 years of experiance and dedication. The entire cabinet process starts with the with the tree they make everything in there own plant over 1 million sq ft of it. How many other companies can say that. I always beleived that we all make mistakes we are human but the differance between a great business partner and a bad one is all in the way we take care of the customer. I think a company that has been in business for almost 50 years should speak for itself.

"Beautiful Workmanship"
My kitchen is the Madison Cherry in Autumn spice and it is the best purchase I have ever made. My realtor who is my best friend came to visit after I was all done remodeling my kitchen and she said I raised the value of my home by 18% in dollars that was aprox 43,000. I only spent a little over 24,000 on the total project I think I did extremely well! Thanks Wellborn~!

"Love My Kitchen"
I purchased my Wellborn Kitchen over 7 years ago and it looks as great then as it does now. I have the savannah greystone which is a grey glaze and I have no problems with the finish or the glaze. I just recently purchased a hutch in the same finish and it matches perfectly. I would reccommend Wellborn to everyone.

"RUN AWAY FROM WELLBORN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!"
BOUGHT 2009: White cabinets with Chocolate Glaze -These were expensive cabinets! 1) Cabinets arrived from the manufacturer with cracks in several doors. Had to ask for replacement. 2) Mullions (the stripes that makes the glass look separated in glass doors) was not the same as in the catalog! They were flat cheap pieces of painted wood. Awful! 3) White Paint is flaking off after only 2 years of use. (We are a married couple w/no children) These cabinets do NOT get hard use! 4) Poor paint job. -When they make a mistake with the chocolate glaze after the cabinet is painted white, they just spray more white paint over the brown paint mistake -so when it dries, you can see dark brown under the white. 5) Only a 5 year warranty is unacceptable. A manufacturer that is confident in their product gives a better warranty! 6)Cabinets arrived with several different "left-over" wood species and slapped on where ever you wont see.-For example: If you have a light maple cabinet and see only the front, Wellborn uses what ever back and side piece they have laying around, so you may have dark cherry piece on the back or oak on the side. Even though you wont see it, I don't like this kind of workmanship. I was appalled. But guess what? When the cabinets arrive and you find this surprise after waiting weeks for them to arrive & you gotta get them up or wait another 5-9 weeks... uh, what are you going to do? 7)Glass for cabinet doors is expensive. I didn't know that. Most cabinet manufacturers ship the cabinets w/the glass. NOT WELLBORN! Wellborn gave me a spiel that the glass breaks in transit so I believed them. Then I paid a glass company an additional $380.00 for 4 glass doors (plus installation into the cabinet w/silicone) and 6 glass shelves. Wow. That's a lot. And I called 4 glass companies in the Maryland DC area. I believe the only reason the contractors are pushing this company is they must be making a fantastic commission on them. I AM PISSED!

"White Thermofoil Cabinets"
We bought our house in Nov. 2002 and the kitchen had recently been remodeled with white Wellborn cabinets. Approximately two years ago we noticed that several of the cabinets doors were slightly discolored. They almost looked yellow. Several months ago we discovered to our surprise that our cabinets weren't wood but wood wrapped in "thermofoil". The thermofoil is now peeling off the cabinets and they look terrible. Something has to be done but we are out of warranty. To replace all the doors and drawers in the kitchen, it will cost us a minimum of $1500 to purchase replacement cabinet doors. This does not include six drawers or installation. I would never, ever recommend Wellborn cabinets wrapped in Thermofoil to anyone. They are a rip-off. We had no idea that these doors weren't wood or were a problem!!!

"BAD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH"
We had a brand new home built in 2003.I wish this site was around prior to our decision to purchase thermofoil cabinets as I clearly would not have purchased them. But my biggest complaint is the poor customer service provided by Wellborn.They clearly misrepresented their product and their customer service skills are clearly lacking.This big company does not care about the customer,it's clearly about them making money , the fail to return calls.I have filed a BBB complaint & a complaint with consumer advocacy in the state of Alabama, they fail to reply to them as well. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!EXPLORE OTHER OPTIONS!

"Extremely unsatisfied"
It appears that we are not alone in our battle with Wellborn. Our kitchen cabinets are 4 years old(still under warranty) and doors are splitting, and paint peeling from the edges. Wellborn insists that it's water damage as they have with other customers. They have refused to send someone to look even after we said we would repaint them ourselves with guidance from them. I can only warn others from making a purchase from Wellborn. Buyers beware.

"I am JUST satisfied with my cabinets"
I have owned my cabinets for four years, however, they were installed in my condo before I purchased it. The cabinets are original, and are about 30 years old. I am satisfied with the life of my cabinets, they have held up very well for their age with no serious damage and have proven to be durable. I've never had to repair them. I dislike how flimsy the cabinet doors feel in the middle. It is surprising that they have lasted so long given how cheap they sound when I close them. My pantry cabinet door is especially ingratiating, it is very thin and bounces open whenever I attempt to close it. Something about the cabinets is a little off, it is almost as if they were not constructed properly and do not fit together correctly, but I don't know if this grievance should be attested to the cabinet makers or the people who installed the cabinets. All in all, I am relatively satisfied with the cabinets. As I have said, they are durable and sufficient for the job at hand. I would buy them again, especially now that they have updated options and I would recommend this brand to a friend.

"Filing a complaint"
Wellborn continues to assert that all but one defective component on our cabinets are the result of such things as water, towels or mopping. They refuse to send a rep out to see the cabinets in person and will not have a conversation with us about how the problems occurred. If you are having difficulty with your cabinets, you may file a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General at: www.ago.alabama.gov

"Thermafoil cabinets"
We purchased the thermafoil cabinets about 8 years ago. After a few years, the covering started peeling off. Now it's happening to all the drawers. Warranty was only five years in 2002 when we bought them. Now it is 10. They will not extend the warranty for us. Very poor quality product and extremely poor customer service. Company may boast quality and reliability, but their product is nothing of the sort. Beware.

"Don't Buy"
These cabinets are in a new construction. As a builder/interior designer, I would never buy these again.We purchased the white shaker cabinets. The edge of the cabinets are all rubbed off, but not because of choice. The finish is not furniture finish, like all cabinets. Even the cheapest brand does a better finish than these. I plan on talking to welborn rep. These things are junk.

They're junk. They were brand new Mar 2007. We've already had several fronts replaced because of peeling paint. Now it's happening 2nd time & worse -- even on panels that were replaced! Wellborn blames us & says they're water damaged, which is nonsense. We've had their local rep and Wellborn reps out twice now. First time they said they'd replace 6 fronts but the rest we'd need to pay for ourselves. Next they went quiet/dropped the ball. Then it seemed as though they were reneging & we'd have to pay for all dor replacements. Just had the second visit. 3.5 year-old cabinets should not be peeling paint. Not sure what they're going to do yet but we're extremely unhappy.

"Kitchen Cabinets"
Our cabinets began to peel shortly after they were installed in 2005. The first doors were replaced, but additional peeling has occurred and Wellborn is claiming that it was caused by water damage. Some of these cabinets are not even near a water source. This was NOT caused by water damage. Also, the dye color has changed, so even if they replace the doors and drawer fronts, they will not match the existing cabinets. Wellborn refuses to help in anyway.
