"Discontinued"
We wanted to buy a matching pantry for our kraftmaid cabinets to match the door and color and I was told Wheaton cathedral was discontinued? That puts us in a spot. If I have to buy new you can bet it wont be kraftmaid. Sad

"Review"
My experience with KraftMaid was an excellent one. During the time of my kitchen remodeling, KraftMaid provided me with beautiful and elegant cherry cabinets, all thanks to the employee Carolyn Hart. Carolyn was constantly extremely helpful throughout my entire process of re-doing my kitchen. She came up with a beautiful design, and constantly kept me up to date on the status of my cabinets. Regardless of the amount of times that I would come in even to just ask a question, Carolyn was always there and always ready and helpful. A great employee like this should really be recognized for their hard work and dedication, so this review goes mainly out to Carolyn. The cabinets were in great condition when they arrived to my house, and although we asked for two cabinet doors to be replaced, the replacement was very easy and free. I would recommend KraftMaid to anyone who is remodeling their kitchen, and would especially recommend that they try to do it through Carolyn Hart if they are in the area. 10/10 would recommend!

"Full Kitchen and 4 Bathroom Install: All Spoiled Within Warranty, No Satisfaction"
New construction, new home. Ordered 4 wetbar/kitchenette /bathroom cabinet bases as well as full kitchen cabinets. The door began taking on a strange streaked appearance at 6-7 years into use. It took me until year 8 to contact them with photos and description. It took them 4 months to send a rep out to inspect them. We were told this streaking was natural and was caused by exposure to the sun. The bathrooms have no exposure to the sun and they are streaked as well. What good is a 10-year warranty if they don't stand behind their products. I would never buy their products again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. Shame on Kitchenmaid.

"Subpar construction"
Custom ordered the vanity from Lowes, took 3 weeks to receive. Opened the carton and found top rail, corner brace and side plate were loose. The parts had been glued but not in contact with each other. I ordered an end panel, it cane separately not installed and no screws or instructions. The touch up kit was $46 and was literally a crayon and a market. I called and asked the support center what to do about the loose top rail and brace and they stated you could send the cabinet back and they will ship a new one in 10 days. The support person was no help at all. I will never buy a Kraftmaid cabinet again, I just hope the cabinet will support the heavy Kraftmaid Quartz top.

"Sub par craftsmanship"
We purchased through Lowes'. The off-white "maple" painted cabinets were not ordered correctly by the designer, so many were the wrong size or had a wrong interior. Many of these painted cabinets had major flaws including dings, scrapes, paint chips, bubbles and raw material like sawdust spray painted into the finish. The mitered corners began separating after the doors were hung, causing more chipping, and the cabinets were not hung level, so many did not close properly. I am still fighting with the manufacturer, having gotten several replacements, which also are poorly constructed and finished. At this point, I am going to have to change the door to a non-mitered door or have them torn out and totally replaced. I would never recommend this company. They are resting on their namesake of 20 years ago, when they actually made a quality product.

"Damaged cabinets and out of square"
We ordered Kraftmaid cabinets for our house we are building and when we received them we had a number of damaged cabinets and not just the doors. We had them working on replacement for the damaged cabinets and when we went to hang them, the cabinets were out of square, at least 4 of them. We just weren't happy with the quality we had received. We requested a refund. They sent a rep out to look at the cabinets and he didn't seem to know how to check them or use a square. He was rude and refused to work with us for a refund. We wanted to find a better quality cabinet somewhere else. We will not be using this company anymore, and we will not he recommending them to anyone.

"Do not buy"
We redid our kitchen with Krapmaid cabinets. When we purchased, we were promised that our stain color would be available in perpetuity. Well, that was a lie. Now we have a kitchen that is part-way done, and they discontinued our stain color without notice to anyone a few weeks ago. There is no way to get this stain. Kraftmaid suggests we buy unfinished products and then go to a paint store to see if they can match our existing stain.

"Lousy Service Will Never Buy Again"
Paid $18,000 at Lowe's for entire kitchen in February. Found out in March that the KraftMaid rep had a question about the order, and rather than ask the question, didn't order the cabinets. When we received them a month later (2 months after placing the order), half of them were broken. We were told the replacements would be expedited. They werent. The kitchen should have been installed on April 20. It's May 3 and we've been told it should be next week. The sales rep hasn't even called us to apologize. I will never do business with them again.

"Warped and upside down doors"
Thanks to Kraftmaid, remodeling the kitchen has been a long, frustrating experience. Twice, a pair of cabinet doors with arced tops were sent with one door upside down. Really? They didn't inspect them before shipping? The preinstalled hinges were drilled and screwed on the wrong sides. And a set of double doors arrived warped. They were replaced at no charge, but the new ones were warped more than the originals. The cabinets are nice, and any non-defective doors are nice. But quality control and craftsmanship need a lot of improvement. I would never buy Kraftmaid again.

"Wrong doors"
I had Kraftmaid Kirkland maple painted canvas cabinets installed that I purchased from Lowes. The 12" pantry came with 2 doors that were not the Kirkland style I ordered and 1 door that was the right style. When I called customer service, I was told that the 1 door that was the Kirkland style was a mistake and they would not replace the other 2 doors with the Kirkland style doors but would send shaker style doors. This is unacceptable to me and I told them to make 2 more mistakes and send the Kirkland style that I paid for. They still insisted that they would not make 2 more "mistakes", which doesn't make any sense. Shame on kraftmaid! I will not recommend Kraftmaid to anyone.

"Poor quality with no Q/C in the manufacturing process"
We needed to fill in a small area in our house with a custom built in cabinet with book shelf. We went to Lowes, had a wonderful experience and ordered the top of the line full plywood custom cabinets, in solid maple with all the bells and whistles. We spent $5,100 for 6 linear feet of custom cabinets, after discounts... Waited 6 weeks, they were delivered by Kraftmaid, running over our lawn causing over $100 in damage. Wasn't thrilled, but didn't complain. I opened up all the packages like a kid at Christmas, and we had 3 problems. One beveled corner piece had a finish problem, and both center cabinet, inner door panels were severely burned (the end grains from a really dull tool bit, zero sanding) and improperly finished. We went back to Lowes, those 3 components were reordered, adding 2 more weeks... All 3 pieces arrived, the beveled piece was ok, however, both replacement doors were actually worse than the original ones... Back to Lowes, spoke with a manager, he called the manufacturer in front of me and was assured this was an anomaly... Repeated order. Waited. Same as before... We did this 3 times adding 7 weeks to our original 6 weeks.... 13 weeks in we just had Lowes come and pick everything up and start over with a different company who may actually care about their quality. 25% of a year squandered by incompetence... I can not recommend this cabinet company to anyone who may actually care about the quality of what they're purchasing. Really sad that no one at the plant took the time to say "wow, that ain't right, let me fix that before we ship it out..." Lowes is great, just don't buy Kraftmaid cabinets there.

"It's where you people are buying them...."
First and foremost...Do not buy your cabinets from Lowes or Home Depot....that is the problem with most of you folks. Go to your local dealer. I see a horrible review from Leesburg, Florida. Had he come to his local dealer (us) I can promise you he would not of had the issues he did. We sell and install....we do not sub out the installations. This makes a huge difference. My installers are very picky, and always let the customer know ahead of time if there are any issues with doors/drawers, etc. Every time, and I mean every time, I have an issue with Kraftmaid, customer service is extremely rapid in handling the issues for us and our clients. I carry several other brands, both higher and lower end, and they all have issues. Very seldom does an order come in 100% perfect, no matter what the price point is, it is the nature of the business. For those of you saying import over domestic....that is laughable. And yes, I do carry a couple of lines of imports, but I refuse to sell them because I care about my clients. Good luck getting any customer service from those lines. Also, if you knew anything about finishes, such as conversion varnishes and clear coats, you would avoid imports at all costs. Most import finishes will start to deteriorate over a few years from contact with the oils in your skin. We won't even get into the Low VOC's or formaldehyde issues....remember, China does not have any of the epa regulations like the United Stares has. Sure, they are all plywood vs furniture board, but I will take domestic furniture board over Chinese plywood any day. Remember, I sell both, and, can make much higher profit margins on the imports, but I choose quality to my clients. Our business is almost entirely referrals...we do very little advertising. I say with confidence out referral rate is 99 +%, with the less than 1% being those people that aren't satisfied with anything. Please people, when buying a kitchen, do your homework, and visit a reputable cabinet dealer. Our prices are typically the same or less than big box stores (even with the so called discounts and sale prices). The attention and service you will get will be much better however.

"Bathroom Vanity"
Do not, under any circumstance, buy Kraftmaid cabinets or vanities from Home Depot or anywhere else. If you have the least amount of humidity in your house the 45s will separate. It's bad enough that they come with a disclaimer on the finish but the issue of them coming apart is unforgivable. Our vanity has been in for about six months and the corner joints on all the door are separating... Abc construction, excellent installers, took pictures over a month ago and submitted them to Home Depot to take the issue up with Kraftmaid. Haven't heard a word since! This is not an inexpensive product but they are not much better than contractor's grade!

"Never again..."
Bought cabinets at Home Depot, they arrived full of bumps, nicks, scratches, unglued, corners are split open before cabinets are even being used. They cost a fortune but look cheap. Glaze was supposed to be on drawers but it is not. Never again.

"Poor craftmanship"
Had our cabinets installed in May 2016. By November we were experiencing problems with both top drawers of our blind cabinets. My husband firmly believed there was one side rail mounted higher than the opposite side causing the tray to fall off the tract and/or get stuck. We called customer service who insisted the rails must be bent. We insisted the rails were fine. She said "its the rails we've been doing this for decades." He crawled in, removed the trays, measured each side and confirmed what he believed. Called back, explained and insisted a rep come look. 3 weeks later the rep comes, looks ( had no flashlight, tape measure etc) says my husband needs to shim the rails. Ultimately, my husband had to take them both apart and reinstall the rails so the were at equal heights.

"Peeling, chipping paint and horrible customer service!"
I had painted/glazed cabinets installed a little over a year ago and they are already peeling and chipping in many areas. I called customer service which told me it was "water damage" and they would not do anything. Horrible quality and customer service!

"Buy the flatbox cabinet, you'll get better quality"
In 2005 I bought Home Depot's el cheapo flat box maple cabinets and installed them in my former house. For my new home I thought I'd upgrade... Save your money the Kraftmade looked inferior in every respect to Home Depot's el cheapo flat box maple cabinets of 2005. The wood looks like crap, I may just paint them to hide the God awful looking veneers, replace the doors entirely. I just hung them and though and two people have already commented how cheap they look and I stuck explaining that while they may look cheap... They are not Home Depot's el cheapo flat box maple cabinets. Okay that's my main complaint, Kaftmade's choice of wood and veneers is the low end of the low end, the samples in the store do not reflect the stuff they ship to your home and if you have any sense of esthetics you'll be embarrassed to own them but... I'd like to add that their service people are absolute jerks on the phone. When scheduling the delivery they tell you when they will deliver them. They don't negotiate this, it's strictly at their convenience. I asked if they had to deliver during Christmas week [forcing me to stay in town and not to be with family & friends] and they said yes or I'd have to wait until the end of January. When I asked about "why there would be over a month between time slots", she said, "I'll just cancel the order if don't like it". She was without a doubt the nastiest customer service I've ever dealt with. Do yourself a favor, don't buy from these people, there are better

"Buy The Stuff From China Instead"
Worked through Home Depot on a bathroom remodel and finally decided to go with Kraftmaid cabinetry, based on their quality reputation, also because I learned that their assembly plant is in Middlefield OH, the heart of Amish country. The Amish are renowned for their furniture craftmanship. Apparently, none worked at this facility. The wall cabinet came in with an obviously defective piece of door framing. Also the cabinet doors were of slightly different size. Due to scheduling trauma with the trades, we had the installers put them up anyway, figuring Kraft-Maid would make it right. Wrong! When I contacted them, they advised that once installed, there was no recourse, not even having a local craftsman come out to repair and adjust, saying, "We have nobody like that in your area". I don't live in Timbuktu. Bottom line... the product never should have made it through quality inspection, much less shipped. All this came on the heels of a name spelling error by Home Depot, which they promptly corrected. However, Kraftmaid's customer "service" informed me that they could not fix it in their system. So I guess I will be recorded under a wrong name in perpetuity at Kraftmaid. I have written a letter to the CEO of Masco, which is the parent company of Kraftmaid and a dozen or so other formerly well regarded brand names which would be recognizable to most everyone. I've also copied Home Depot. I will be interested to see what, if anything is done on my behalf. I would have been no worse off, and saved a bucket of money, had I bought the Home Depot offshore manufactured cabinetry.
