"Horrible service, delays"
I believe the product may be fine; but the service has been horrible. The first cabinets came May 20 and replacements were ordered because the employee measured wrong. $12,000 I was assured there would be a rush 7 to 10 days. It is July 9 and I haven't seen a cabinet or heard a word from Lowe's or Kraft Maid. I've been without a kitchen since May 20!

"Serious quality issues"
Purchased what I thought was high end cherry cabinets from Home Depot. Door and door frame was nice, cabinet box was junk particle board with printed contact paper covering. Cabinet bottom had bare composition board on sides and back. Keep in mind that this is a wall unit mounted by sink. I would guess the life of this cabinet box would be fairly short before it starts looking bad. Where is all this quality that they talk about? A small note about customer service from Home Depot and Kraft Maid it is just words used to gain your business. You pay up front wait a month for your products and they are no longer interested in you. After all most people only re-do one kitchen in there lifetime.

"Kraftmaid vantage cabinets"
Ordered Bradford door style with a kaffe finish. The entire order was perfect. Couldn't be happier. Very, very satisfied. Order was placed and installed by an independent Kraftmaid supplier.

"Fell apart after 6 years"
We had our kitchen cabinets replaced with Kraft Maid cabinets purchased at a cabinet retailer in Woburn MA in 2009. About 2 months ago, 6 years after installation I look up to find that all the upper cabinets appeared to be falling off the walls. I called our contractor, he came out to look at them, and he put in a call to the retailer. We sent pictures of the cabinets to Kraft Maid and they agreed that the cabinets were defective, and the problem had nothing to do with improper installation. They promptly sent us new cabinets (but got the order wrong and we are still waiting for one), but are refusing to reimburse any of the costs of uninstalling and reinstalling, which came to $2000. They are also refusing to include the crown molding, which will cost us $240 to replace, even though the previous crown molding is unusable. This is unacceptable and they will be hearing from our attorney.

"Do not buy!"
We replaced our kitchen with all Kraftmaid cabinets and I regret it. All the doors shipped separately and the colors do not match. They sent someone to repaint them all after they were installed. Should have just sent the entire kitchen back and replaced with a different brand. Waited our entire life for a new kitchen and it looks terrible. I get sick everytime I look at them. Soooo disappointed with our kitchen's appearance.

"Terrible customer service and unwilling to warranty their product"
We moved into a house 7 years ago that had Kraftmaid cabinets installed. Two years later we ordered additional cabinets for more space. We are now doing a remodel and want matching cabinets but Kraftmaid discontinued the glaze and is unwilling to do a match. They said we'd have to order unfinished, unwarrantied cabinets and paint match them. I have over $14,000 invested in Kraftmaid cabinets and I am going to have to repaint them all to get them to match. This will probably void the warranty for the previous cabinets when I do this. What a racket and what a bogus deal.

"Poor QC and nothing is Kraftmaid's fault."
There are many issues, my cabinetry doors look as if the quality of wood is second run. There is marring in panels -- gouges really, broken drawer, scratched finish, glaze puddles, area where there are large streaks in the glaze (very uneven). Shelves are marred and chiping, veneer on shelves rough (kraftmaid rep think sits glue and I can rub it off) Kraftmaid Representative claims this looks good, and the installers should have finished the finish. What? Really? Touch up, yes, correct finishes - no. Kraftmaid rep has claimed that everything wrong with the cabs in normal and of course, someone else s fault. He blames the unfinished portions on the kd (apparently if you want an even finish you should request it) and on the installers - because they made the cabinets, and should have done a better job finishing...which...just for the record, if you want a touch up kit for install...you have to specifically request it...it only comes with one type of cabinet box -- which, I did not order. How is that even reasonable? I have a small kitchen, spent $14,000.00 on cabinets, I expect the company making them to make sure the doors and cabinet boxes are perfect when they leave the warehouse/manufacturer... The doors that look good, are beautiful. I am presume that when the kitchen is finally complete I will be happy with the finished look, but I am not pleased right now. I would seriously consider getting cabinets from a different company or even hand crafted to avoid this headache.

"Many issues"
You think you are getting custom made cabinets but they are not! Had to have cabinet doors returned 4 times due to miss drilled hinge holes. Very poor finish, dirt under the lacquer finish. 1 door was not even close to matching other doors in stain color. Contacted Kraftmaid rep. To remove cabinets and refund money but was told a refund was not company policy that we were stuck. A 6 week job turned into 6 months. Cabinet doors also arrived at our house damaged. Very poor quality assurance! Cabinets are all 1 size fits all and extra space is just filled in with molding. Cabinets are a lot smaller than the cabinets that we replaced that were over 50 years old. Highly do not recommend! Contractor has since told me they will no longer be using Kraftmaid after using them for over 20 years.

"Would you pay $800 for a cabinet with missing doors?"
I just received my Kraftmaid cabinet order, two upper and one lower cabinets costing over $2000. Upon opening the boxes, I found one of the upper cabinets was missing a door. There was a pre-printed sticker on it saying 'during final assembly there was a missing component and that every effort would be made to ship this item in a separate package.' Sure enough there was another package with a door. Of course it looks as if it had been rejected from someone else's order as it is missing large sections of the glaze that was a $600 add on and no screws to attach it to the cabinet. It's truly sad that Kraftmaid finds their quality problems so frequent they have pre-printed stickers made up and think it is acceptable to slap a sticker on it and ship it. I will never again buy Kraftmaid cabinetry.

"Laundry Room Cabinetry"
We purchased our Kraftmaid cabinets at Home Depot(2014). The finish was exactly what we wanted. We installed them ourselves. When installing you find out just how poorly these are constructed. I installed a shelf and came really close to breaking the wood, due to the fact that the metal pieces to install don't fit perfectly. We special ordered these and the doors do not match up, so we had to move screws around so that they would all be level. There are no instructions on how to install the trim pieces and the store was not helpful with that either. For the amount we paid for 2 bottom cupboards and 4 wall cupboards, $3500, I would have expected a much better quality. We will never use Kraftmaid again.

"Kraftmaid kitchen cabinets - caveat emptor"
We purchased our kitchen cabinets from Lowe's in fall 2011 for our kitchen remodel. The cabinets were reasonably well built, for commercial type cabinets. We like them, for the most part. I do have a problem with the wood they use, versus what's on display when one purchases them. The wood for the displays is consistent, color-wise. However the wood used for our cabinets contains a lot of sap wood, which shows up as a lighter color than we expected, on numerous stiles, rails and panels. The end result gives the cabinets a cheap look. I expected the cabinets finish to be similar to the display models we choose from, with a consistent finish. Over all we like the cabinets, as far as function and construction they are as expected. If we had been shipped a product with the same care given to the finish that was displayed I'd be happy. I feel we were given an inferior finish, without being informed, resulting in a disappointing look. Knowing what I know now I might not have purchased this product. Knowing what I know now I would have tried to rectify this issue.

"Mary in NH"
I bought my cabinets 6 years ago and had immediately trouble with mismatched doors and damage. After several tries, getting Home depot involved, and much delay, I got the doors. Everything seemed to go well until last year. The kitchen does not get heavy use. While the internal pull outs and shelves are in very good shape, the drawer and door fronts are a disaster. The glaze had chipped a bit once in awhile and I repaired it with a glaze Home Depot got and gave me to match. Earlier in the year, the glaze just started peeling off in inches long strips. At a minimum I will have to have them refaced and that should not happen after 6 years. I always swore by Kitchen Maid we had them in the house I grew up in and I had them in 2 other houses I owned. One house was over 60 years old and the cabinets were in great shape - still had the original labels inside. I would not buy them again.

"Kraftmaid cabinets and Home Depot"
As other reviewer wrote no quality control before shipment to San Juan, Puerto Rico by freight h/d store. We renovated our kitchen; started Sept. 2013 and final 4-5 doors were put in may, 2014. I choose maple (jackson). After 3 contractors and delay with damaged doors due to cracks/discoloration on manufacturing side also damages within transport we finalized have our dream kitchen. We also had help with h/d San Juan and state side to accomplish mission. I waited 6 yrs to do and I absolutely luv my kitchen and my Kraftmaid cabinets. You have to be prepared for some delays and patience. Its all done now and I am happy.

"Beautiful Cherry Cabinets!"
I redid my kitchen in an old house about 6 years ago. I purchased Kraftmaid Cherry cabinets in a cinnamon finish and I absolutely love them. They had a nice variety of cabinets to choose from but the best is the refrigerator cabinet with a large cabinet over it holding all my baking pans and cooling racks. The finish is still as perfect as it was the day they were installed, I do have them polished with good furniture polish once a month. I would highly recommend this brand. You get what you pay for and it is worth spending the money on the one thing everyone wants when buying a home.. a great kitchen!

"Major delivery Issues"
I'll review the cabinets if I every get them! I spent over 30k, they called with a delivery date, I drove 2 1/2 hrs to the site the nite before and they did not show up. I called by noon and the lady confirmed Yes, this is the delivery date, but could not find the time, so was put on hold for 10 minutes and she came back and said they were waiting for 2 more doors to be made and could not tell me when I might expect delivery. Now 10 days later, my son calls and tells me there was a box sitting out by the gate (rural area-who knows how long it was there) and guess what ? it was a door! Had Lowes call the rep, no apologies. He said there should have been 8 boxes, not 1. they will call to reschedule, have been sitting in a warehouse in Houston. They are shipping the doors and some drawer fronts separately, so now I have to install those myself. I cant wait.

"Kraftmaid cabinets"
We renovated our kitchen thru Home depot and chose Kraftmaid, when we got our cabinets one cabinet door was a different color, and another was not properly aligned. It took 2 deliveries for the company to send us the acceptable door. First replacement, although they sent us the right color the paint did not properly coat the sides of the door so we requested for a third door got it and still was not perfect but decided to use it since we needed to finish the project. The other misaligned door took another couple of weeks as well. I assume that although we loved the design of the cabinets, it seems the company has no adequate quality control.

"5 week delay"
We are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen and our project is set back by five weeks because Kraftmaid made the corner cabinet wrong. They also messed up on a few other things but we can't do anything until they finally send the right corner cabinet. I like the cabinets, they are beautiful but I am not impressed with the company or how the orders are managed. You would think with this kind of a screw up they would at least hurry to make it right but I have not so much as got a phone call. We paid in full for this to be done and done right and we will not be doing any other home renovations ever because this one has been such a pain.

"Home Depot/Kraftmaid Nightmare"
I purchased the Kraftmaid cupboards to renovate my kitchen from Home Depot. I paid $17,000. Home Depot is facilitating the job, and doing a horrible job. The kitchen installers are great, doing a great job. Even though the cupboards were flawed and damaged, HD insisted these guys install the cupboards damaged, and then, when the new cupboards are delivered, take out the damaged cupboards and re-install the new ones. I was so "ticked", putting it mildly, and I insisted HD have someone from Kraftmaid come out and look at the cupboards, and finally they a Kraftmaid rep showed up at my door. After inspecting my cupboards, and documenting the damage, the Kraftmaid rep looked at me and said, "Your expectations of our product is too high." He then told me, he would order new cupboards once, just once, just one time. If the new cupboards showed up damaged, or worse than what I've got now, well...in not so many words, he said, you're stuck with them, and you might need to pick the best of the worse. I was furious. I choose a plain Shaker type of cupboard, painted surface. Some of cupboards have cracks, gouges out of the side of the cupboards, chips, and flaws in the paint. The paint in the joins of the frames, has split. This was the rep's explanation the cupboards were damaged and flawed: Some of the cupboards just come this way, or over time, the cupboards will just split in the joins, or Weather conditions in Ontario, the humidity, and temperature changes, hot to cold, are not really recommended for painted cupboards, didn't Home Depot tell you? And, Jostling around in the truck on the long truck ride from Ohio will make the paint split in the joins. I told him I did not buy that crap, because I paid for new cupboards, not factory seconds, and the cupboards should come off the truck looking brand spanking new, and in good condition. Oh, the BS... and Home Depot, he assured me, knows all the problems with these cupboards, and they should have told me.... oh, passing the BS buck. New cupboards have been ordered, first order came in a week. This is the order the Home Depot kitchen designer, and I use that term loosely, she ordered the top cupboard doors a different style from the bottom cupboard doors, and a pantry cupboard six inches too high... etc. All these errors are being corrected. I'm just waiting on the damaged cupboard shipment. Both Home Depot, and Kraftmaid told me when the cupboards and boxes arrive there will be over 20. I am to unpack the boxes and inspect for damage. Oh, boy! I paid to have installers do just this, and cart away the cardboard. I have been advised legally, not to open the boxes. They could come back on me and say I damaged them, or these boxes are so big, heavy and awkward, I could hurt myself. Oh, more BS from these too companies. Both Home Depot dropped the ball. Big box companies don't give a flying flip once they have your money and they do get your money. Unlike other kitchen companies, you pay Home Depot up front, not in installments as the work goes on. How crooked is that. So, they get your money, cut the rope and send you out to sea.

"Kraftmaid cabinets and home depot"
I am on my 11th week and my kitchen not done. Home Depot finally sent an authorized person to look at the mistakes made by the installers. If home depot would have came out at least a week. After portion installation was done we could have avoided waiting on ordering new cabinets doors. Also at least 6 doors have chips; discoloration and variation on doors; some doors darker than others; poor craftsmanship. This has been a nightmare the process is very taxing. I just hope after everything is all said and done I hope I am satisfied. This is not an easy process. I need to do my walk-in closet; but will most likely not do through home depot and or Kraftmaid.
