"Stay Away From Kraftmaid"
Lowe's sold me on Kraftmaid and am very disappointed with the quality, support and overall waiting for the right product. I have a shipment coming on a replacement cabinet and of course Kraftmaid is sending the wrong one again. There were supposed to send two cabinets and of course it's my fault that only one is coming. I have several cabinets in the garage waiting to be replaced and picked up. Kraftmaid says I have to take care of that too. The delivery people have authorization to take wrong cabinets back, but they lie and tell you they cannot. If I had to do it all over again I would go with a different company. I got hoodwinked into buying Kraftmaid by Lowe's that claimed this company had their act together. Believe me that is a lie. Would never recommend them to anyone. Hard to believe Kraftmaid has been in business 40 years.

"Dont ever buy Craftmaid"
One cabinet not even square, forgot to ship doors and screws and when they did one of the doors was damaged. Very expensive cabinets for what you get and I thought I was buying quality stuff. I think I could have bought better at Walmart if they have them... oh they do but you have to put them together. Never again

"Happy with Kraftmaid from Lowes"
We remodeled our kitchen in late 2015. Quality: We ordered maple cabinets in all wood with peppercorn stain and they are beautiful and strong. I love them. My husband installed them and had no problems with quality or squareness (as another reviewer mentioned). It was his second time installing cabinets. There may have been a random scratch or dent here or there, but that's to be expected during shipping and it's no big deal to cover it with the crayon and marker they provide. Service: We ordered before we were ready and customer service called every month for several months while we delayed the order. (We originally ordered in May and took delivery in November.) This week (a year later), we called to request a replacement clip for one of the drawers because it was cracked, and we've already received the clip and a backup. We also asked for another scratch-cover marker and they sent that too. Delivery: Before discounts, we ordered about $18,000 worth of cabinets, molding, and panels (after sales and other promotions, paid about 15k) and delivery was almost perfect. All cabinets were exactly as ordered. The only glitch was over the myriad confusion of crown molding, which may have been a result of the order and not Kraftmaid's fault. (Still haven't finished that part of the job.) I feel for the other reviewers who are disappointed in their cabinets. Maybe Kraftmaid has more than one manufacturing location? Maybe the quality also has to do with whether you order the all-wood version or the wood faces with particle board? Sorry, I don't remember the options now. There is nothing I dislike about my cabinets and would absolutely order Kraftmaid again. Good luck!

"Don't ever do custom cabinets!!!!"
I have done 6 kitchens with Kraftmaid. They have their place in the market and usually do what they should. They recently offered an option for custom sizes. My example is I needed a 13" wide cabinet so they offered the option to modify the 15" cabinet. They of course completely screwed up and sent the 15" anyway. Not even an apology from Lowes... 5 Weeks later I am still waiting for this 13" cabinet. Like I said, they have their place. Keep it simple or go to a real custom shop. These guys are not capable of anything other that what they offer standard. My experience has always been of the same with the big box retailers (Lowes / Home Depot). They are not high end capable people. Run of the mill slap it up stuff. That's on the same level with the service they provide.

"Gravely Disappointed - Multiple Problems"
Purchased Rustic Alder, Durham in Sunset Suede Kitchen cabinets and Oak, Durham in Fawn bathroom and laundry room cabinets. I received my order of cabinets and I am gravely disappointed in the quality. They are poorly constructed, materials are low grade press board, there are staples everywhere, its like they were made with the rejects. I am having to replace two bath vanity cabinets as the drawers don't line up and are crooked, replacing three kitchen cabinets, on one the drawer won't close flush and the other two they sent the wrong cabinets. Also replacing several doors as they are either not square, not the same size or length as the partner door or they are warped. One of the base kitchen cabinets, the doors fell off as all the screw holes were stripped, we had to buy bigger screws to hold on the doors. Nearly every cabinet door or drawer does not fit completely flush. I have yet to receive all the replacements and I hope this is not an on going saga. Spent nearly 25k on these cabinets , I will never buy Kraftmaid again!

"Painted white kitchen cabinets"
Within 60 days paint started peeling off of the cabinets and garage that sit on the counter in the corner and the cabinets around the sink. We had someone come out and try to fix them they couldn't do anything. A year later we received a letter that said sorry we can't help you it's your fault there was excessive moisture on the cabinet. I was dumbfounded. If there's moisture on cabinets around the kitchen sink and the cabinets can hold up to that shouldn't the manufacture figure that out for their customers. Secondly there was no excessive moisture on the counter cabinets the paint is peeling 2 inches up that would be impossible.

"Chipping"
We ordered Kitchencraft painted cabinets 2 years ago. Lexginton door in Maple with portabello finish. I loved the colour. Withing 6 months I noticed chipping on the edges and in the middle of a piece under the island. By a year the chipping was horrible and far more then I expected so soon. The chipping occurred in low-traffic sections of the cabinet which I didn't expect. It's too bad because the quality of the cabinet boxes, for the price, is really good. They just seem to skimp out on the finish. We have since moved and are building a custom home. I am very hesitant to use Kitchencraft again, especially after reading other's reviews. Kitchencraft, if you read this you need to address the steps you take to finish the cabinets, both painted and stained.

"Can't they get one thing right?"
We ordered through Home Depot. The first cupboards were natural wood, and they were so poorly made, they looked like a child's craft project! After many phone calls and a visit from their rep, they finally agreed to take them back and credit us, but we had to reorder through them. Ugh! We finally chose some painted cabinets and reordered, only to have the wrong cupboards delivered with the wrong doors. Also, several pieces were warped, making it impossible to hang correctly. When the right cabinet doors were sent 8 weeks later, they were sent without the hinges. More calls. Several weeks later, we have hinges, but they sent the wrong ones! More delays. If I had it to do over, I would never order from them again. Quality is okay, but the hassle factor is high. Choose something else!

"Very Disappointed"
Purchased Kraftmaid light grey Durham Maple Square style cabinets in December of 2015. When finally installed in December the cabinets had tons of knicks and scratches in them. When Kraftmaid was contacted I was told to have a Lowes representative come out to look at them. When the representative came out we marked all the cupboards together and she sent the information to Kraftmaid. We received our new set of doors, and believe it or not, most of them were worse then the first set. When we contacted Kraftmaid they had said painted doors are hard to work with. Well, why wouldn't anyone tell me this before I spent almost 30k in cabinets!? When we finally got ahold of a Kraftmaid representative to speak with, he said that the cupboards have natural markings in them. I am not an expert in cabinets but these are literally knicks and scratches. This has nothing to do with natural markings. I just cant believe a representative from Kraftmaid didn't personally come out to look at these doors. Wow! Way to stand behind your product. I would never recommend Kraftmaid to anyone and right now I have 2 family members looking to do kitchen remodeling. I am sorry you cant stand behind your product Kraftmaid, you lost a good customer.

Review:
"Worst Cabinet Ever!"
When the cabinets were delivered they were the wrong color and they had gray streaks throughout and they had huge 8x11 bleached areas like a paper had been put over them. The installers (Home Depots approved installers; Green Craft) who came out the next day told us that it looked like something that has been stored in his backyard or garage for years. He said in all the years he had been doing cabinets he never saw anything like it. Everyone who saw them had the same reaction. The color we choose in the store was light years away from the color delivered and when the Kraftmaid representative for Phoenix came out and told us that Cherry changes with age and that is why the colors were different and encouraged me to put the cabinet in the sun for 2 days to see the difference. Well my husband wasn’t having any of it and after thinking about it, me either, I am sorry but how crazy is it to spend almost 10K on cabinets and have to put them in the sun. She also talked about quartersawn and all kinds of other stuff that means nothing to me. Bottom line Kraftmaid didn’t deliver excellence and not even average performance on these cabinets. They should have never left the factory, period!! We were told that the color in the store was many years old and that is why it was different, shouldn’t there have been some disclosure of that to us. If we were told that what we were looking at would not be what we got we would have never ordered them to begin with.

"Beyond Expectations"
Okay - I just completed my kitchen project. I originally started out getting a custom kitchen quotes by a local carpenters. I then went to a local Home Depot who had a few different cabinet lines. I chose Kraftmaid because the door style I chose was unique and the color and finish was great. When the cabinets came in, I have to say they looked much better than I expected (since it wasn't "custom"). Now that I am able to fully use my kitchen, I love my Kraftmaid cabinets. I did have 3 doors that I felt looked not as nice as the others but the Kraftmaid Rep Gary H. (Great guy, great customer service) came to my house and replaced them. I would highly recommend Kraftmaid!

"Flaws and delays"
I would never buy another thing from the distributor, Kitchen Gallery in Falmouth MA. The woman that did the design was terrible. She missed many key elements with the design and options that were available. When the cabinets went up 8 of the doors had flaws on them. I was told I was too picky! Once the Kraftmaid representative came out she ordered new doors and a touch up kit for me. These doors came in fairly fast, faster than the cracked cabinet box, 4 weeks waiting for that. Our kitchen was supposed to be ready for the Fourth of July and it wasn't ready till Labor Day! This was not acceptable since this was a beach house that had no kitchen for the entire season! Now that the problems have been taken care of, with many calls, and visits to the dealership. I do love the way they look and perform but I ask myself if I had chosen a different brand if I would have had these issues. We are now starting a rehab on the kitchen in our primary residence and will not use Kraftmaid.

"Run, Run Away Fast"
If I hadn't experienced this for myself, I wouldn't believe it. Do not purchase Kraftmaid cabinetry. The quality is uneven and the follow through after the sale is nonexistent. The regional sales representative came to the home after the first install and declared the cabinets defective. The replacements took a month and were worse than the first. The same rep. Then said that was the way they were supposed to look. The cabinets were mottled, like a 4 year old had been given charge of the stain application. There are gouges on the wood and the finish is ridiculously poor. Terrible customer service, poor quality and no follow through. With all the choices on the market, go elsewhere.

"Poor customer service"
I haven't even received my cabinets and I am already having issues with Kraftmaid. I called 2 weeks before my delivery date to ask for a 1 day extension due to having to go out of town. Both their representative & supervisor were completely disinterested or helpful in my request to delay delivery by 1 day. If they are this inflexible before I even take delivery I am very skeptical.

"Gaps, paint bleed"
Cabinet corner seams were not flush showing gaps. Mocha Color was sized to be just in crevice but when they painted it they had a fine mist of that color bleed into main part of cabinet. This is second time I purchased Kraftmaid but will never buy brand again. Gene w

"Disappointed Customer"
I purchased Kraftmaid cabinets and had many issues from the beginning. The overall quality was poor making it necessary to reorder some doors up to three times. Also, one cabinet was not square and the pull-outs would not slide out smoothly. Each time I had to reorder, it would take a minimum of 6 weeks to get the new product in and I would then have to schedule the installer to come out. My remodel started in January and I am just now finishing up (over 6 months). The final quality of doors was still not great, but I was told they would not reorder them again. When I tried to reach out to Kraftmaid, I received a very cold and uncaring response which took weeks to even get that. I would say, buyers beware if you are considering Kraftmaid. They are on the high end from a cost standpoint and the quality is not reflected in that cost.

"Cabinets coming off the wall"
We did a kitchen remodel 9 years ago. We went to Home Depot and bought Kraftmaid cabinets. 9 years later, my cabinets are pulling away from the wall! When I called Kraftmaid, they told me that in the specs it says that any of their cabinets that are over 30 inches wide needs to be supported by a decorative leg or from the ceiling or they will fall off the walls! Never was this told to us by Home Depot, nor was it posted on the box or on the order! My installer said he never heard of such a thing! Basically, they are saying that their cabinets are so cheaply made that they can't support themselves. Who would want to install a "decorative leg" coming down from their cabinets to the countertop? If I had known this from the beginning, I would not have gotten these cabinets!! You would think they would have a red warning label! Anyway, I called Kraftmaid, and they do not have good customer service. Basically, they blamed it on us for not seeing it in the specs. I asked who had the specs? They said the designers (Home Depot). Ok, well how am I supposed to know this? So, 9 years later, after thinking my kitchen looked great, I now have to figure out what to do with kitchen cabinets that are falling off the walls, and nobody taking blame for this shoddy construction!
