"Review of IKEA AKURUM/RATIONELL kitchen cabinets"
I purchased these cabinets from IKEA last month and I must say that so far I am very satisfied. The cabinets look great in my kitchen. I bought them in white to replace some old, dark cabinetry and the results are fantastic. The kitchen now looks so open and airy. I would recommend these cabinets to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen and likes the look of white cabinets. I personally feel that white is a great color for kitchen cabinets. What I like most about the cabinets it's their look and how gorgeous, open and inviting they make my kitchen look. If I had to say something I dislike about it would be the fact that they tend to show dirt a little bit more than say a darker color cabinet. This really isn't a problem for me as I like to keep everything clean and will wipe with a damp sponge almost everyday but if you are not a clean freak that might be something to consider. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these to a friend.

"A Simple Review of Cabinets that come from Ikea and how they compare to previous cabinets."
Well first of all, the most important attribute about these cabinets is that they look great. Surprisingly, it was rather hard for me to find contemporary cabinets that I didn't have to pay outrageous shipping fees for, but, luckily, and Ikea had recently opened in a town near mine. They were completely easy to install by myself due to their light weight, lack of complex parts, and use of minimal tools. The quality of the wood is quite lacking though, sometimes it feels rather cheap because it isn't made of a sturdy wood. As of now, however, I haven't had any issues with it, no breakage, chipping, or sagging. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a lovely modern feel to their kitchen (or any other storage areas).

"Ikea offers value and flexibility"
I've purchased my Ikea Applad White cabinets in 2010. I made my purchase decision based on the value that the cabinets offered. I was able to purchase my cabinets and assemble them myself and include many desired features like pull out shelves and soft closing doors and drawers for much less than the least expensive ready made cabinets on the market at my local hardware store. If there is anything that I dislike about my cabinets, it is that I can't find any other place in my home to install them! I love the project of design and installation so much I would love to do it again. I have had zero problems with the cabinets to date. I would recommend these cabinets to my friends. In fact, I have! And my friend ended up installing another finish of these cabinets in her home as well and she loves them too!

"IKEA cabinets are great for the price"
I have owned the Liatorp cabinets by IKEA for over a year now. I really like it because it looks great with the glass doors. There are quite a few racks so you can store a lot of things from plates to silverware to photo frames to souvenirs from vacation and knick knacks. It's a great place to display fragile objects because the doors are glass, so people don't have to open the cabinet doors to look at the goods. I have it in a pleasant and neutral white color that would match any home. I get lots of compliments on this piece of furniture. Although the construction of the cabinet took a few hours, I built it well and have not needed to get it repaired yet. I would definitely recommend the cabinet to friends and family because not only is it reasonably priced, but it is also functional, and looks great in the home. I get a lot of my goods from IKEA and would do it again!

"GREAT PRICE, GREAT PRODUCT"
I have owned the cabinet for 8 months now and I have not had one problem with it. It was easy to assemble and the directions are very straight foward. Due to the material the cabinet is made out of it makes it extremely easy to wash. It has taken a beaten to with the dog always jumping on it trying to get to food on the counter top and I am shocked to find not one scratch! It is a very well built piece and the color is stunning. I am very statisfied with the space in it, my only complaint is the legs seem a little cheap. With that being said for the price of it you can not really complain. There are alot of other peices made by the company that I also have and not one has broken! I would highely recommend this product and brand to all of my closest friends and family!

"IKEA Kitchen Cabinets Are A Great Bargain"
When we renovated our apartment, we wanted to update our kitchen while not losing out on the price. We went looking at a lot of different kitchen stores and had a huge variety of options in New York. We ended up at IKEA and we just could not walk away after looking at the quality and price of their cabinetry. The IKEA Akurum White cabinets did the trick for us. The kitchen cabinets look far more expensive than their actual price -- they are slick, modern, come in a variety of colors (we got white but red is also very attractive), and they are a great value. There is not much to dislike about an IKEA Akurum kitchen cabinet -- it washes well, it has soft closures so it never bumps when you close a cabinet hard, it feels sturdy and reliable. Aesthetically, the cabinets are very pleasing to the eye. We've had the cabinets for over three years and we have not had to repair them once so far. The installation of the cabinets was a little bit of an issue -- but we decided to have professionals do it, and that is worth the price as well. I would not recommend that an inexperienced person install the cabinetry. You're far better off with a professional. Even with the cost of installation, an IKEA kitchen beats the price of other kitchens by many thousands of dollars. I would wholeheartedly recommend IKEA to a friend -- they are truly a great bargain and feel and look like much more expensive cabinetry.

"Mike's Ikea Cabinets"
I installed my Ikea cabinets about a year ago and I'm mostly satisfied with them. I really enjoy their shape and color and the layout fits my kitchen nicely. I like that two of the cabinets can be opened vertically rather than horizontally. However, the hardware that keeps the vertical cabinet door open seems to have worn out pretty quickly. The cabinet door does not stay open as stiffly as it used to. The cabinets take a while to self assemble but the price is affordable and I enjoy the look. Overall, I'm mostly satisfied.

"A Nice Heavy Wood Grain"
We have owned these cabinets for 2 years now. I love the off-cherry color and the heaviness you dont usually feel with an Ikea product. I have no complaints. Never needed repair. I would recommend this to a friend, and would by again. Ikea makes quality products.

"Ikea cabinets: durable, affordable, beautiful"
We are very satisfied with our Ikea Akurum Lidi white cabinets. They have been in place 3 years and still look brand new. They were affordable, easily customizable to fit in the small space of our kitchen and all us to have much more storage than before. The drawer pulls are the best of any cabinets we tried, the cabinet doors close softly without slamming, and the shelves are easily adjustable to fit our pots, pans, dishes, and glasses. We have not had to repair or replace any items in the three years we have had the kitchen. Our Ikea install was MUCH cheaper than similar (but lower quality) cabinets would have been from Home Depot or Lowes. When we purchased too many items, Ikea was very easy to deal with and painlessly processed the returns without any hassles. We would recommend Ikea to anyone looking to install a kitchen in an area within 100 miles of an Ikea store. They are easy to install yourself as a homeowner or easy to have a contractor install.

"How to keep the cost and still look great."
I have owned the cabinets for 5 years. We went to the Ikea store with our measurements. The staff was very helpful in helping us pick the cabinet we would need to fill the space. We left room for a dishwasher, which we did not buy from them. We installed them ourself and we played a huge part on the outcome of the kitchen. They were very easy to install. We live in Ohio and went to Pennsylvania to get the cabinets. They were shipped to the house, in the box and all the hardware. We read the setup guide Ikea gave us on our design and did all the work our self. I paid more for the granite countertop them I did for the cabinets. This was a huge transformation at a 3rd of the cost. I would deal with Ikea again and again.

"Amazed and Enjoying the compliments!"
Our new house needed cabinets and we really shopped around. We wanted a simple shaker style and a few special features. We finally decided on IKEA and bought them about a year ago. You can't beat the price anywhere and if you are handy with a few simple tools it is amazingly easy! The installation process is fairly simple, just takes some time. The system of hanging and leveling them is a cinch. The only thing we found a little hard is that the instructions are mostly diagrams and sometimes it isn't quite clear right away what to do. However, you take your time, and figure it out, then you fly! My teenaged daughter did quite a bit of the work with me and did some on her own. The hinges are the best around and you can get the soft close on all the doors and drawers. We love the look of our kitchen and almost everyone is stunned when they hear they are from IKEA. Our entire kitchen cost less than our neighbor's new granite countertop - including appliances! I will definitely buy from IKEA again - if I ever need new cabinets!

"Great Cabinets And Easy Instal"
I have owned my cabinets for 8 months. I love how easy they are to open (no creaking or noise). I like that they stay closed and that the inside of the cabinet is coated with an anti-scratch coating so none of my plates/bowls/etc stratch them. I dislike that the edges are quite sharp and my kids sometimes hit their heads on them. I have never had to replace or repair them. I would recommend Ikea cabinets to a friend and would for sure buy the same brand again! These cabinets come at a great price and, so far, are great quality. Family friendly too.

"The Swedish Cabinetry"
I've only owned my cabinets for a few weeks. So far, they are holding up well. I don't like how Ikea makes you assemble everything on your own, but on the plus side that means the furniture is more cost-effective. The cabinets are holding up well, and are quite sturdy. So far, there have had to be no repairs, but that could be because of the short time I've owned them. In the future, I suspect the bolts and screws will have to be tightened, but that should be all. I love Ikea, so I would definitely buy more furniture from them, as well as suggest it to all of my friends.

"Ikea cabinets fit right in"
I installed a wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor bank of Ikea cabinets in my historic home. They went together fairly easily, and without any special tools. I did have to make some allowances for old out of square walls and surfaces, but they turned out great. The pull-out shelves and a full-height pull out pantry shelving unit are great and were definitely a major "selling point" for potential tenants when we were showing the house to rent out. I chose Ikea because a lot about the original construction of my house is non-standard in relation to modern houses, and the Ikea modular system made it easy to configure the components to fit the space, and the style I chose, while not entirely historically accurate, manages to look like it was meant to be there.

"A Quick and Easy Cabinet Solution with Professional Results"
We ordered IKEA AKURUM cabinets a little over a year ago. While installation was mildly frustrating since the instruction were only pictures and no words, they have performed wonderfully since then. It was easy to use IKEA's software to layout the kitchen and arrive at a custom solution with stock cabinets. The pull-out feature of the pantry cabinets in amazing and the lazy susan design is innovative and practical. The soft-close drawers and cabinet doors are a nice feature that is not typically included in cabinets in this price range. Another helpful feature was the leveling legs. We were installing the cabinets in an old house with less than level floors, but the legs made it easy to keep the cabinets level. The clip-on plinth that hid the legs was also quick and easy and made it simple to give the cabinets that extra bit of polish without much hassle. The cabinets have performed admirably in the year that they have been in use, but it is comforting to know that if anything breaks it should be covered under the lifetime warranty. It is also easy to swap doors and other parts in the future because all the cabinets are standardized easy to both assemble and disassemble. I could not be happier with the cabinets and would purchase from IKEA again in a heartbeat.

"New cabinets aren't as nice as the"
I don't know if they make or sell the cabinets we bought a few years ago, but I hope they don't. The ones we got seem to be thoroughly mediocre. We bought these white cabinets thinking they were painted white solid wood cabinets, what they actually were was white melamine over particle board. It's easy to clean and everything, but we weren't as careful about the cleaner as we apparently had to be. The first time they got dirty, we sprayed them with this stuff we'd been using on our previous cabinets without problems. Every melamine seam the cleaner touched the melamine peeled away and the particle board swelled up making it impossible to close some of the doors without shaving off some of the swollen ups bits. Sure, I'll admit that it's our fault and that we ruined the cabinets and could have avoided the problem by taking more care in selecting a cleaning agent, but seriously who worries about cabinets delaminating when spray cleaner is squirted on them? They are cheap, though, and better than nothing.

"Look Great - A Little on the Flimsy Side"
As is the case with a lot of our furniture, we went to Ikea for this. Since we've only just now done a major renovation, we've actually owned them for only a few weeks now. Already, one of the doors isn't quite fitting right (which is odd, since it was fine to begin with), and we haven't yet gotten around to trying to fix it. The overall solidity of the product feels somewhat poor, but is generally no worse than what you would come to expect from Ikea. Overall, the design is fairly nice, and the cabinets do their job. Excluding the one strange one, everything seems to be "operating" smoothly. Overall, I have no problem with the product that I did not already expect. I will probably continue shopping at Ikea in the future...as it's definitely within my price range, but I may explore my options a little more next time, and would recommend that friends look elsewhere if they have the money to do so. Otherwise, it honestly can't be beat for the price.
