"IKEA quartz countertop"
Looks great, feels great. But do not buy any light colored countertop unless you plan on never touching it. Even the yellow snot my 4 year old sneezes onto the countertop makes it stain. The product is incredibly porous and sensitive. We have nice kitchen utensils from Crate and Barrel and if you place a spoon down, it will leave a scratch. Really wish someone would have told me before we made this decision.

"IKEA looks beautiful but be warned, the beauty doesn't last"
I have lived in 2 homes that had preexisting IKEA kitchens when I moved in. On both kitchens the veneer on the drawers and cabinets started to chip, crack and fall apart. The structures are holding up but the outside looks horrible and this was just a few years after installation. I loved the layout of both kitchens but will never buy another home with a preexisting IKEA kitchen. My current kitchen was put in before 2008 and IKEA has discontinued this line of kitchen and has introduced a new one. I can not replace any of the faces on my drawers or cabinets through IKEA. Luckily, I have found Semihandmade and they do older IKEA kitchen replacements.

"Don’t do it!"
My Ikea kitchen is only 3 months old, it has been a source of constant stress trying to get the snags fixed (we used Ikea installation team) and we have found the after sales customer care just dreadful. The solid oak worktop is the worst possible quality and despite our careful care and maintenance it is already black, the cabinets are flimsy and get dented so easily... overall I wish we had paid twice as much and got something that would last

"Avoid Avoid at all cost. 25 yr warranty worthless"
I purchased an Ikea kitchen with a 25 year warranty. Six years later several of the door fronts are delaminating. I contacted Ikea. As Ikea ofthen does, they changed the entire kitchen line so that they no longer carry the size or style and told me that there is not much they can do. Really! If you are going to warranty anything for a period of time, then you should make sure you have parts available to honor the warranty. I've been reading horror story after horror story about people having to install brand new kitchens after short period of time for same reason. I would even purchase new cabinet fronts so at least I don't have to tear out the counter tops and entire kitchen. In fact, one of the reasons I purchased the modular kitchens from Ikea is so that I could potentially change the look after a while if I wanted to. But what they do, is change, slightly, the dimensions of the cabinets so that you can't even purchase new replacement or new style door fronts and have to purchase a new kitchen. I even read on consumer report that the Ikea 25 year warranty falls totally FLAT. Do yourself a favor and purchase another kitchen elsewhere. I have several homes. The cabinets in one my other home has lasted over 17 years and still looks great. Ikea kitchen quality in my opinion is very poor and in my experience and similar situations I've read about, they do not stand behind the product.

"Horrible Customer service"
We ordered our kitchen cabinets through IKEA and that was a fairly easy process. They started building the cabinets a couple of days ago and got them all built in one day which is awesome. Well, today we revived a call that we are missing some parts that are needed for the kitchen remodel. The women proceeds to tell us it's our fault that the parts were not delivered. She said it was our responsibility to check to make sure we received all of the parts. Keep in my we received probably around 50+ boxes so how in the heck were we supposed to go through to make sure everything was there. She then proceeds to say that we have to drive to IKEA to get the parts. We don't live close and there was no way we were going to do that. We told them that they will have to bring themselves or get the delivered. She said she doesn't know if that's possible and told us she would call us back. 20 minutes later we received a class saying they would deliver the parts tomorrow. Needless to say we are extremely unhappy with the way we were treated by the lady on the phone. If ikea forgets to deliver somthing that is on them and not on the consumer. While the customer service was bad, the cabinets are beautiful and the people who put them together were very quick and efficient.

"I love my remodel"
We did a complete kitchen remodel with Ikea cabinets and I could not be more pleased with the result! Since we went all white I could not see spending big bucks on all wood cabinets that were going to be covered win white paint. We shopped around a lot--Lowe's Home Depot, Costco, Parr, specialty cabinet stores. And Ikea came in a an attractive price point--thousands lower than anywhere else. Look, if you have a really super high-end house, maybe these are not for you, but for us, it was the perfect choice. We did not install them ourselves, and the installer did a great job.

"Metod cabinets"
We had Nick Fry install our kitchen. We can not fault his workmanship and work ethic. Nick is an extremely organised, personable and clean worker. We are absolutely delighted with our kitchen so far. Our cooker, sink and bench top have yet to be installed but hopefully this will happen shortly. We can recommend Nick Fry as a top tradesman

"Never Again!"
We chose Ikea cabinets for our kitchen remodeling project. What a mistake! The cabinet walls are made of particle boards; not hard wood. Three years later, the surface paint on several doors started to crack and peel. I brought them back to the local Ikea store and was told by their customer service rep. that this model (Duvbo) was discontinued and there is no replacement. So, the warranty offered by Ikea is simply a marketing scheme. They don't back their products. Further, since they won't replace the cabinet doors, I request a paint formula so I could buy paint myself to repaint the door. They replied it is their proprietary formula that they won't reveal it. I will never buy Ikea cabinets again!

"Very happy with many Ikea kitchens we've installed"
I'm a professional building contractor and we've installed about a dozen Ikea kitchens in homes. I've even installed them in the two homes I own. Here's the deal. Get a real designer to design the layout of the cabinets in a CAD program. It will cost a few bucks, but it will be done right and then the install will go pretty smoothly. Build them in a clean, well lit location. Don't assemble them in the kitchen you are installing them. Do one at a time and go through the entire inventory before attempting to assemble even the first one. Group all the pieces together that will make up one cabinet. Use wood glue for all the dowels. Use a crown stapler for the back section. Install the upper cabinets first using Ikea's very smart rail system and if you don't own a good level or a laser level, buy one. Install the bottom cabinets leveling each one as you go with the adjustable feet -or- install a 2X4 level base to set the cabinets on. screw the base cabinets together and securely fasten to the wall using wall anchors. Install doors and drawers last and since the cabinets should be all plumb and level, only minor adjustments will be needed. Use a template for the holes for the handles and hinges (Ikea sells one, I think) drill the holes slowly and you should not have any chipping from the interior. It seems that many people who complain are talking about the staff or the lowest priced models. Spend a bit of money for the more expensive doors and drawer fronts and you should not have any issues. Yes, the Ikea staff can be horrible and not helpful, but if you know that going in, then there is less of an issue. Do your homework, assemble them with patience and you will be rewarded with cabinets that will last many many years.

"Ikea is Great"
Hi, - Ikea is Great and can provide 15-80% off value from Home Depot/Lowes to Custom Let me explain. Ikea : They Provide a Kitchen average 3-9k Parts Depending on most average kitchens and parts. Counter tops are 500-5k from Wood to Quarts. Wood is 1/4- 1/3 the value of quarts. (not all) Install can vary on each kitchen, Average is 2-5k. Small kitchens are 5-10k Med Kitchens are 8-13k Large Kitchens are 10-16k Ikea customer service - Everything needs to go to the Store to do everything. Wait time is for Customer service. 1-3 hrs - when doing the install with the Installers, Any issues is taken care of in most stores locations (ex bad panels ) The installers Ikea uses are a lot better customer service. Down Side Long wait times. - Soft closing drawers. perk, no other company has that in the price and you have to pay for that. --- Home Depot/Lowes- Manufactory typically Kitchens are 15-45k Refacing is 16-25k. Averages Install 2-5k Good side Short wait times. Custom: 30-100k for Solid Wood. White Kitchens cost alot more than others. - Short wait times.

"Flaking kitchen cabinet doors"
A few years ago, we installed Ikea kitchen cabinets. Within 3 years, the finish on the doors/drawer fronts was flaking off. I went back to the store because they have a policy that would replace damaged cabinets for free for 20 years. I had all the paperwork, except the actual thin store receipt. They would not replace them without it. They said they could not look up the sale in their system because they don't save that information. The cabinets were obviously of poor quality and now I am stuck with them until I can afford to replace them with a worthwhile product.

"Terrible ordering help at Burbank CA store"
After measuring for cabinet locations and using the IKEA Kitchen Planner I selected IKEA base and wall cabinets for two kitchen walls. I went to the Burbank CA store about 11:00 AM PDT on a Wednesday morning. There were very few people in the kitchen department when I arrived. After asking to have my design critiqued and an order for parts placed my IKEA advisor left on a break. I was told that any other advisor could continue to help with the needed parts order. A second and then third advisor got involved. Between the three advisors I ended up bringing home almost nothing I needed to build the designed kitchen. I ended up with such a mess of parts that I don't need that I'll return everything and request/demand corrective action. I'm very unhappy! Furthermore emails to IKEA might be returned in five days or more. Telephone calls to any known IKEA phone number are a waste of time.

"Total Disaster"
IKEA Kitchen Remodel is the "Absolute Worst". I am so outraged with this company. From the beginning with The designers to delivery of wrong order, to the representatives in the store, the lack of follow up and still as I write this I took day off to wait for my correct stove to be delivered because they delivered the wrong one and now they tell me the truck broke down. No accountability! We called the corporate office that is how bad this situation is. My recommendation do not use Ikea to remodel anything in your house.

"Customer service is awful! Try another path"
Bought a whole kitchen from IKEA along with microwave / vent combo. Had them install it (which is pricey BTW). They damaged the microwave on install broke a front attaching nut so the unit cannot be installed properly. Their team did it. I've been on the phone for 90 minutes and cannot reach a human who can address this issue. Service is terrible. I would not recommend this as a solution for anyone. They hide behind a wall of 888 #s and "I can't address this - but I'll try and call xxxxx". Never going back.

"Uneducated staff on kitchens"
We paid to have our kitchen designed by Ikea and what a disaster. They did not take into account our fridge depth so corner cupboard doesn't open. A lot of design flaws and we are told that we have to buy the new pieces needed and bring returns to store which is 3 hours from us as they will only do one return. You must also open all your boxes to check for damages as you are only allowed 1 return for damaged products. When calling for help, there is no one that knows what to do. We have spent a total of 17 hours on the phone to resolve the design flaw, which we have to just live with. We paid to have the kitchen installed and would have to pay to have it redone. Ikea will not help with the mistake other than refund our design fee. Apparently we had the best kitchen designer at the North York Ikea, yet we have all kinds of headaches. The cupboards themselves were easy to assemble and I like the look.

"25 year warranty fraud - 2 yrs old discontinued no parts"
I had concerns about buying an Ikea kitchen. The sales staff in the store Canton, Mi assured me that they warranty the items for 25 years and that they sell the kitchen models for several years and do not change often. We bought and paid for the entire kitchen. They said they had to deliver it we were not allowed to pick up ourselves because it had to come from their warehouse. The order shows up at our door two weeks later and we received less than half the kitchen. Two hours of phone calls and a trip to the store we are told the items were on back order. By the way, several of the items were damaged during the delivery and those items were again on back order. It took several months, ten phone calls and about 6 visits to the store to get a "Complete" kitchen. Now, less than 2 years later I spent 2+ hours on the phone because I need a part warranty and I am told the kitchen is discontinued and they do not use that mfg. Company anymore. Now I am told by the Kitchen customer support they can't help me and I need to go into the store to discuss it with them. What? Why? 25 years doesn't mean less than two years.

"Biggest rip-off of my life."
I should have returned my ikea pile of s--t the first week. That is the biggest regret of my life. I can't believe I spent 10 grand on this junk. Honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach how much money and energy I spent. I purchased during the holiday season, it only took one hour to order... I've never been so angry, the quality stinks, the customer support is not existent... I should have repainted the 50 year old cabinets that I removed. Anything would have been better than this garbage. I hope potential customers read my review. I don't want anyone else to spend their hard earned money to get burned like this. I now have the displeasure of looking at the hunk of shit everyday in my house. I think I'm going to move!

"STAT Kitchen Cabinets"
Stat kitchen cabinets. What a piece of crap. They chip at the slightest impact. Since the edge surfaces of the drawers alignment easily changes they strike the drawer below or the side and you get worn areas and chips. The white color easily yellows from sunlight. And swing out door hinges failure is common. Happy they removed stat from their product line, but I'm stuck with this piece of crap that didn't last 5 years. To rework the faces of the cabinet drawers and chipped surfaces will be more than the $3,800 paid for it. Ikea response - you don't have the original receipt - you bad, go away. So much for the 25 year warranty.
