"Do not waste your time/$ with Diamond"
Absolutely terrible! I bought a kitchen in Barrie, On. Lowes location. I bought the "Elk" colour cabinets. Upon arrival , the entire framework, fillers and the backing of my 9 foot island was in "Thatch"!!!?? This is an espresso dark wood that diamond said "goes well as a match with Elk wood colour." Completely disappointed and misrepresented of what their marketing pics looks like. My kitchen looks like a mobile home of 2 tone brown and black wood. Still waiting for a resolution to this. I am shocked at the response and workmanship. Also, it'S. It custom made - don't be fooled. It was ready in 5 days and they said 5-7 weeks which is sat in storage for weeks and the fees sent to lowes. I would never ever recommend Diamond and I am trying to get them out of lowes to prevent others from going through hell for $10000. Pathetic

"Damaged/missing panels and doors reported to Lowes"
We bought Diamond kitchen cabinets for a new build from Lowes in Rochester NH. We were directed to the Diamond brand cabinets by the Lowes kitchen installer. Delivery and installation was scheduled by Lowes. The first batch of cabinets delivered had several cabinets, doors and panels damaged or completely missing. And that is only the beginning... After six (6) more attempts to complete cabinet install and 2 months... We still have kitchen that is only 1/2 installed! When each of these six (6) incidents were reported to Lowes, they politely reordered the damaged or missing units. There was no urgency and zero follow-up! Diamond cabinets suck! Lowes suck! I will never buy even a single nail from that store again!

"Don't use Lowes or Diamond."
You get what you pay for. Subpar cabinets. Some doors don't match, 1/8 inch difference in size. Amazing, no sides to the lazy Susan's. Particle board back for the sinkbase. Terrible customer service. Wrong size cabinet, will take up to 1 month to get. They sent one spacer board for the overhead supposed to be 2. The 1 they sent defective. Then they sent 2 spacer boards, wrong color. Finally sent 2 correct spacers, so now I can have more than 2 hanging cabinets. This has been going on since July 21 delivery. May be over, but I wouldn't bet on it, by Aug. 23 with the last cabinet delivered. Lowes no help.

"Pure Junk"
They have no customer service. They don't call back or send a service rep. to look or fix the cabinets. Finish wears off within one year, hinges fall apart and two cabinets cracked right up the middle. The worst cabinets I have ever had. They hide their tel/number and when you finally get them, no one answers, they must be swamped with complaints. To sum this up pure crap cabinets. Do Not buy them regardless of the price.

"Nimble cabinets a disappointment"
I've been installing Ikea cabinets in our kitchen and decided to try the Nimble cabinets by Diamond from our local Lowe's for a kitchenette in our basement. The first cabinet I opened had a scuff mark along one edge. It was minor and not very noticeable so I decided to let it slide. The second cabinet had no flaws. The first set of doors I opened had multiple corners with dented edges and cracked finishes. One of the doors was missing one of the rubber bumpers on the door edge and had a pin hole flaw in the exterior finish. When hung the top of the doors misaligned by about 1/2 inch and could not be corrected with the hinge adjustment screws. The single door for the second cabinet had similar damage on the its corners as well. At that point I repacked the doors and cabinets I had opened and returned them to Lowe's for a refund. To say I was disappointed in the quality of the finish of these cabinets would be an understatement. Lowe's was running a 20% off special on their in-stock cabinets which was the tipping factor for me to give these cabinets a try. Even with the 20% off the Nimble cabinets are close to the price of the low end Ikea cabinets so my recommendation to do-it-yourselfers is to go with the Ikea cabinets if you have an Ikea store in your area.

"Run far. Run fast."
Overall I'd say the materials used for these cabinets were fairly decent (only because I paid through the nose for all the upgrades) but in most other respects, they were just a hair above atrocious. Issues basically fell into three categories: 1. GEOMETRY/ALIGNMENT ISSUES I've seen far better alignment and tolerances on generic stuff from IKEA. I also do plenty of my own cabinetry, and I know how closely one can measure (1/64" isn't hard), and I know how accurately I can drill a hole by HAND (1/32" isn't hard). Diamond seems to be lucky to be within 10 times that, even though they have (or sure as heck should have) a factory, with jigs and templates, and all kinds of machinery set up to make these things predictably, over and over again. There is absolutely no excuse for the kind of appalling workmanship and misalignment of parts that I found on my cabinets. Oh, Diamond, let me count the ways that I do not love you... First, one of the three cabinets was fully 1/4" out of square. Are they gluing these things together on a shifting sand dune? Second, panels were not flush with one another. In several cases I had to sand the joint to make it even. Third, fully half of the brackets holding drawer rails at the back were too high, yielding canted drawer rails and therefore canted drawer fronts. This is NOT an adjustable setting. I had to unscrew everything and mount the brackets properly, which takes a ton of time. It is extremely hard to move a hole at the back of a cabinet to a location near the original hole. It's very difficult to reach, and the drill or screw simply wants to slip back into the old hole, unless you also take the time to plug the old holes, which takes even more time. Fourth, drawer rails were also not mounted at equal depth. Again, this is not adjustable. The screw slots do not allow for motion on this axis, and this was plenty enough to account for some of the drawer fronts' failure to sit flush. Again, I had to move screw holes around. Finally, many of the drawer fronts were also mounted at an angle and/or with no consistency of vertical offset from the top of the underlying drawer box. The false front under the sink was fully 1/4" of an inch off center. Absolutely pathetic. I could do better with my eyes closed. 2. FINISH/DAMAGE ISSUES There were many nicks and dings around the face frame. Perhaps they figured I wouldn't care because they are hidden when the drawers are closed, but they're perfectly visible when the drawers are open. Far worse was the massive chip out of the veneer in the corner of the decorative plywood end for which they'd had the audacity to charge me $125 (more on that later). To be fair, some of the smaller dings around the face frame might have happened during shipment when drawers shifted and smacked into the sides of the frame, but why wouldn't they protect against this with a tiny shim of foam or cardboard? They used a truly ludicrous amount of foam and cardboard to double pack the cabinets on the whole. Could they move just 2% of that gratuitous packing material into a small shim that keeps the drawers from shifting during transport? Pretty clearly a case of just not caring. 3. PRICING ISSUES These things were not cheap, and the "upgrades" were even worse. Apparently dark brown is a "premium" finish for reasons that totally escape me, and for which they added nearly 15% to the cost of the whole darn order! The "flush plywood end" cost an unconscionable $125. The ONLY thing that means is that this little piece of plywood is just 1/4" thicker than the plywood used everywhere else. I know what the incremental cost of an extra 1/4" of thickness is for plywood, and it sure as heck isn't $125 for a small fraction of a full sheet. Try something closer to $5. 25x is a pretty indefensible markup. Almost as bad is the $100 they charge for a quart of stain. Really? I can buy a quart of any other stain for something like $10-15. It takes a lot of gall to charge six times more for a stain that I'm sure they acquire very cheaply in large quantity. SUMMARY If Diamond is going to charge five times what a generic cabinet costs, they better darn well have quality and tolerances that are 5x better, not 5x WORSE. In their defense, I did eventually wrangle a credit for about 10% of the order, but that took several weeks, lots of pictures and email, and it's a pittance compared to the time and effort I spent (and still have yet to spend) fixing their shoddy work. I personally have no data on other brands of semi-custom cabinets, but I can say for sure that you should run as far and as fast as possible from Diamond until they decide to take even a passing interest in the quality of their product.

"Be aware"
Be aware - learn from my experience: 1) The sink base came with particle wood in the back. The manufacturer offered a refund for the premium I paid for plywood, but now I am stuck with particle wood unit that will be sensitive to moisture and may deteriorate faster. 2) Some drawers are made of different color of wood strips inside and some look like they were treated in wood filler in a big area. The manufacturer replaced them, but the new ones are not better. 3) Face plate of some drawers are made from different texture of the wood and have two different shades. The manufacturer replaced them but the new once are not much better. 4) Some parts come with shipping damage and you wait a few weeks for replacement.

I have sold these cabinets for over 5-1/2 years, and compared to the other 3 brands that some other customers had in their homes they choose Diamond because of the quality of construction. I have studied the box fabrication and found them to be a better design.

"Terrible experience - Over two years of battling"
I was lied to from the start about these cabinets. Turns out the ones I ordered were discontinued the day after I was told was the good promotion end date. Yeah, end of the horrible line I was sold. Don at Store #25 kept dragging me along, ending up in a series of deceptions and excuses. Now they all have to be removed, returned, counter top lifted at great cost (quartz), and they are still dragging their feet about getting installer out to measure so I can order more. I am thinking about just returning everything including countertop (might all be returned in pieces as I live alone!), demanding my account be credited so I can pay off the loan, and going elsewhere. Never again will I buy cabinets at Lowe's after this terrible experience. It was downright cruel and deceptive. I'll update if they make this mess right. They say they will, but I'm still being dangled for another three weeks now. Corporate will just shoot the email back to the store. One manager seems to be sincere and competent, another is sincere but not able to get action.

"Don't Big Box It"
The cabinets are reasonable for the money; however, the representation that Diamond got from Lowe's kitchen planners in Seabrook NH was haltingly bad. I did not end up with the cabinets I wanted due to their neglect in informing me of significant details, such as the drawers would be all flat when I clearly want raised panel. Sorry doesn't cut it Lowe's. I am so disappointed wight he end result and no one really cares to address it.

"What a complete dissapointment"
Very poor quality... You have been warned. I've only got 35 years experience with cabinet carpentry, but these were some of the worst made cabinets I've ever seen. Face frames & car cases; all crooked, twisted and out of square... Some on all 3 planes. Doors are square, but some stiles were run through the shaper without being flat on the table, so their not even close to being flat or on the same plane... Plus their shaper knives must have resembled the sharpness of a shovel, because their moulding cuts are all splintered out and rough as hell. (luckily that didn't slow them down, they just slapped the finish right on them over all the ragged surfaces) I spent an extra grand for 'all wood'... That was a waste. The 3 ply 3/8" plywood used is twisted, warped junk, MDF cases probably would have been better. Every single base cabinet needed belt sanding across the top of the back, because the backs were installed crooked with one side 3/16-1/4" higher, above than the side panel. Every one of the 36" uppers are out of square by up to 7/16", measured cross corner on the face frames. Plus their car cases are out both directions by 3/16". (Just try lining up 3 upper cabinets that each is racked out 7/16"...Hint; know what 3 x 7/16" adds up to ??) The dados for the top & bottom are all more than a 1/16" oversize (so you get nice open, crooked joints inside each cabinet corner) I know nothing is perfect in this world, but a 3' cabinet being almost a 1/2" out of square on the face frame is just junk and if I had built it, it would have gone in the burn pile. I would have been better off building these myself on site. In fact, I probably could have challenged myself to use nothing but a skill saw and a router and built a much better cabinet.

"Low quality, slow production and delivery"
We have had 3 quality issues with Diamond thru Lowe's. 1 cabinet was not square so it had to be reordered. It took 1 month for just the box without the doors to arrive. Meanwhile the kitchen was on hold. Later a shelf had to be reordered; well the wrong size was sent. Requested a new one and this ordeal lasted 3 weeks. When the top cabinets were finally installed it was observed the doors for one of the cabinets were not cut straight. First I thought the box was not square but the installer said it was a manufacturing issue with the doors. The wood was not cut properly so they look bowed. Please do not put yourself thru this ordeal with Lowe's and Diamond. I will never do this again with both of those company's. We are on our 6th month and the kitchen is not completed as of yet.

"Kitchen Project"
We were fortunate to find a Lowes designer, Soni, that influenced our decision to go with Diamond. We had 20+ cabinets that were coconut and a 6'x6' center island done in cherry. The cabinets came in on time and were as ordered. I believe the success of a project depends on the designer. Soni's attention to detail and design abilities along with product knowledge made for a smooth project. We had a concern about one seam and the Diamond rep was out immediately. I would highly recommend Soni at Lowes Nashua and Diamond cabinets.

I have been installing cabinets for Lowes for 13 years. Diamond makes a good cabinet. The prelude line isn't a very good cabinet. The prelude line is for a cheep kitchen remodel. Diamond cabinets are made in Oregon, and I am in Oregon. I never run into damage, but they are not shipped very far. All cabinets have problems.

"Wish I wouldn't have wasted almost $10,000 for a craft room"
After receiving cabinets could not believe almost every piece had flaws. Was told company would send all new parts within 10 days. Well now almost 13 days later, am told company will send someone to try and fix them. Talk about pissed, that would be me. Looked at reviews and of 21, 17 aren't happy. That should tell you something. Their final inspection before delivery sure needs help. Might be lodging a claim with BBB next. Wish they could take them back.

"Slow, poor customer support"
I received my cabinets about 30 days after ordering them. I had my kitchen tore up thinking this would be an easy install. One of the upper cabinets came defective and this is the main cabinets that the others are leveled from. Well the work stopped my kitchen is a mess. I was told by Lowes designer that the cabinet should arrive in a couple of days. Now is 22 days later and I have received the cabinet. I am so disappointed with Lowe's and Diamond. Their quality mistake and they do not expedite anything for you. Meanwhile I have been without a kitchen for a month. Do not buy from them!

"I am happy with Diamond"
Boy, I am sorry that many people have issues with Diamond. I took 3 months with the Lowe's cabinet designer and they arrived in 4 weeks. 2 weeks before I had expected. Mine were boxed up fine and no damage. I did order a cabinet that would not fit in my condo door. Lowe's was happy and took back what I did not use and I got a replacement at a smaller size. My fault about not getting the larger cabinet in the door.

"Very Satisfied with Diamond"
I checked all of the poor reviews regarding Diamond cabinets prior to ordering, but decided to take the chance based on the cost factor. We ordered Diamond cabinets (all plywood) from Lowe's and were told to expect them within 3-4 weeks. We received a call from the shipping company at the end of the 2nd week stating that our cabinets we're scheduled for the following week. We received another call 24 hrs prior to delivery to re-confirm, and another call 30 minutes prior. The coordination was excellent! When we received the cabinets, every box was in perfect condition (very well packaged), but we still checked out each cabinet prior to accepting. I installed the cabinets myself this past weekend, and never found any scratches, dents, or dings. We were completely surprised based on reading the negative comments from other Diamond customers. I'm assuming either Diamond has improved on the quality control, or we are just one of the luck ones! Would purchased again tomorrow...

"No delivery and no communication"
Without bias... Diamond is having major production issues according to them. I ordered new cabinets Nov. 17th and were promised delivery Dec 15th. Was not informed until Dec. 17th that they would be delivered Dec. 29th then not informed that they now might be delivered Jan 26th. Lowes takes no responsibility despite fact that they charged my visa full amount for the order on Nov. 17th. Don't order from Lowes and don't buy Diamond if you want your cabinets within 3 months ...still waiting
