"Junk - Bad Quaility Control"
Ordered cabinets for Kitchen, Bath and Laundry. Over 6 of the doors had paint chips or other imperfections. Drawer fronts were all cockeyed and had to be removed and reinstalled. Frame damage from factory that was repaired incorrectly. Split face frames. These cabinets are not worth the hassle. Home Depot Customer Service and Woodmark Customer Service is non existent. Would never buy again.

"Horrendous experience"
2nd time around ordering thru Home Depot, first time flawless. 5 years later terrible-6 months later just finished. 1st delivery 9 out of 10 cabinets damaged. Sent rep out it was so bad, promised everything to be inspected prior to being shipped. Next set of deliveries Nope! Another 3 damaged. Between delivery handling and now manufacturing sloppiness. This has been the worst customer service on American Woodmarks end since March. Home Depot should split ways and not be associated with this company.

Junk craftmanship. We get to keep the crappy cabinets because they were hung. This entire experience was horrible. Lost lots of money. No quality control.

"Great kitchen cabinets"
We had our kitchen cabinets installed in 2001. They're still as good as when they installed then. I just called them today 08/2019 because a hinge on the lazy susan door broke. They still had all of my records and are sending me new hinges at no charge and I told them about a small peeling spot on one door so they are sending me a new door also. The warranty is great (as long as I own the cabinets they are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects.

"Worst service worst cabinets"
Custom Bathroom vanity: Two furniture cabinets came in very poorly made....that is in addition to needing two additional new drawer fronts and one whole drawer because of poor workmanship. The matter is now over 1 month old and there is still no resolution from Home depot or from American Woodmark. I was shipped two new furniture cabinets but these were made worse than the ones that came with the first shipment. My entire bathroom project is now on hold until this gets resolved. My suggestion is that you stay clear of American Woodmark. If that is all you can afford.....stick with your old cabinets you will be happier.

"Customer service"
Won't make the mistake of buying cabinets from home depot or american woodmark again. I would have been better off going to Habitat for Humanity. I accidentally broke a cabinet door on my kitchen sink base and tried to order a new one. After having the customer service rep hang up on me SIX times I got a hold of a condescending rep who promised to make it right. Still waiting for that call. Save your self the trouble and spend a few dollars more and hire a professional cabinet maker.

"Poor quality poor customer service"
I recently purchased 7800 dollars worth of cabinets from American Woodmark through the Home Depot. When I received my cabinets on July 8th I noticed the first two boxes I had opened had damage and defects. I called the Home Depot kitchen designer within two hours of receiving the cabinets and notified her of the issue. At this point I was advised to open all the boxes and make a list of what is damaged and needs to be returned. I stopped opening the boxes at the last two because every cabinet before hand was poorly constructed and damaged. I again called the kitchen designer (who has been more than helpful throughout this process) and she contacted the American Woodmark Rep. The next day on the 9th of July I spoke with the rep Tony who I made aware that I did not want to keep these cabinets. It was not until Monday July 15th that I finally recieved an email confirming American Woodmark would take the cabinets back. I still have not recieved a confirmed date of when American Woodmark will send a truck to take the cabinets back, the best they could tell me was that someone will contact me by Friday with a date. Meanwhile my house has become a warehouse for there cabinets. Please read the reviews about the quality of construction, the damaged condition the cabinets arrive in, and the poor customer service that other have experienced with American Woodmark before purchasing their cabinets.

"Very unhappy"
They came to us looking like something I would build. Scratches and dents all over them. A rep came out and was so rude and treated us like garbage. Not will to give us a refund after three attempts to get decent cabinets.

"Worst Cabinets Ever"
We have lived in our Ryan Home for 10 years now. From even before day 1 there were problems with these cabinets. On our walk-through one cabinet door was split down the middle. Shortly after moving in, periodically the next 10 years, the drawer boxes almost all broke (cracked at either end) causing the front of the drawer to fall off. The drawer boxes are cheap MDF which are stapled at the ends - NOT durable. For the first five years, whenever a drawer broke we called the company and they shipped out another free of charge. This must've been a wide scale problem because after a few years they told us the redesigned the front of the drawer box to be a thicker. The last time a drawer box broke they started giving me a hard time replacing it. I currently have one broken drawer box front, and one in the back. In addition to the drawers there are other problems. The quality of wood is cheap. They are supposed to be cherry but mar easily. The finish in many places is scratched or knicked. My parents had cherry cabinets and there was not a mark on them after 30 years. Finally, every few months I have to go around to all the doors and tighten the screw in the hinges as they come very loose. If I didn't tighten them the doors would eventually fall off. Again, my parents never had this issue. Extremely dissapointed not only in Woodmark but in Ryan Homes for installing such cheap products (and these were supposed to be the upgrade!)

"Buyer Beware"
I, like almost every review, purchased these cabinets at Home Depot. The sales rep told me there's no partical board and no plastic used. I was so upset that I was mislead...plastic and partical board are used. Home Depot sent out a rep and the AW rep came to look. The rude AW rep tried justifying it by saying, "It's (partical board) only used in one cabinet" and "We use plastic so you can adjust better". No, you use partical board and plastic because they are cheap. The cabinet doors don't sit right and they don't close right... But wait, that's not their problem, "the installer needs to fix all those problems". Then to top it off, one cabinet the installer has to create. It gets better... I told him I thought we were getting solid wood cabinets and he tells me they don't exist. I told him I had them in my Sanger home and he says, "I'd have to see that because they don't exist". This is a rep who has never been in my home telling me what I am saying is not true... I was appalled by his behavior. Both, Aw and Home Depot are very difficult companies to work with... if you choose to purchase, never say I didn't warn you. I'm still waiting on a return response from Home Depot since I was mislead... this will go to court if they deny the return... I'll keep you posted.

"Need better hinge design"
Purchased these cabinets almost 10 years ago. Cabinets themselves have been ok. However stay away from the folding hinged corner cabinets. After a couple of years they sag and then rub against the adjoining cabinet. We wanted these corner cabinets so the shelving was easier to reach. Have tried adjusting the hinges. After a few weeks they are sagging again. Several of the other doors do not line up. Don't know if it is the hinge design or the installers error. We had to get the installer back as he did not counter sink the screws and some of the cabinets scratched before we realized what was happening.

"Horrible carpentry"
Ordered cabinets and wanted two peninsula cabinets to make an island, one base showed up dinged up and one piece of toe kick gad a chunk missing out of it, they replaced them no problem, blamed the movers which was so obvious not their fault, then I had cabinets installed and found one peninsula completely built incorrectly, the shelf holes were drilled incorrectly spaced so shelf tilted, the base was a completely different size than the good cabinet so toe kick could never line up, they sent a replacement that was built worse than the bad one, I have not heard back from them! Do not buy these, build them yourself!

"Very unsatisfied"
They get one star because customer service has sent us many door , drawers and replacement parts. Costs have exceed over $6,000 in Additional costs over regular installation. And still adding up. We purchased on sale. Overages have now exceed what it would have cost to purchase more quality cabinets. Do not purchase from this company. Too many problems to list. Basically, cabinets severely out of square , door tops and bottoms do not line up after full adjustments, inconsistent spaces between doors, paint does not match, very thin pain, bottom rails do not line up on top cabinets by up to 3/4 in. . It has been a nightmare. We will probably have to go to court. Do not be fooled by someone else’s success with these cabinets as we were. Offered us $300. Insult. We used an experienced kitchen contractor to install. He has never seen such bad work by a cabinet company. He is helping us try to recoupe overage costs.

"Disgusted Customer"
I am a contractor here in Pittsburgh and purchased all my rental unit kitchens through home depot using American Woodmark cabinets. I purchased a kitchen late in 2017 for a home I purchased for my daughter. Working on the home in our spare time, we finished the cabinet installation in early 2018. There were damaged cabinets and other concerns that were reported to our Home Depot kitchen designer. A Woodmark rep inspected the cabinets in June 2018 and advised that we would receive replacement doors, touch up kit, etc. After many, many phone calls to home depot, the Woodmark sales rep and finally to Woodmark, we received a shipment in November 2018. The shipment was missing a glass cabinet door. I notified home depot of the missing door on November 29, and was advised they would contact Woodmark and get back to me. Not receiving a response, I contacted home depot on December 17, my contact at home depot indicated she reached out to the Woodmark sales rep and Woodmark's main office and had not received a response for either. I contacted Woodmark on December 17, and relived the entire incident with a new Woodmark rep, she attempted to suggest that since the cabinets were purchased in 2017, I was not within the 90 day damage report policy. Sensing that the policy statement was not going to fly with me, she advised that, only after review and possible approval by management, they would send out my door. This entire handling of my issue by Woodmark is completely inexcusable, there has never been a "I'm sorry" or "this should have never happened", etc. offered by anyone at Woodmark! My daughter will be hosting Holiday parties with an unfinished kitchen! Thank you Woodmark!

"Consumer Fraud"
It is amazing in this world how a company does not take responsibility for insanely horrible workmanship and customer or lack of service. If there is a problem instead of resolving the problems they make them worse. The Home Depot Lake Park, Florida store is partly to blame as well. Never use this brand or if you do make sure you pay through American Express so you can dispute the charges. Because all that will happen is they will send you replacements of the damaged / poorly constructed, broken, poorly to no stained and glazed cabinets and in two cabinets different styles between the door and drawer. In an order $8,000.00 of cabinets, 23 in total, 18 were damaged or not made right. When the AM. Woodmark (Todd) representative came to the house to inspect the problems, he agreed that the workers in the factory might have been "drinking on the Job on a late Friday afternoon". Not Once has anyone called me to follow up with the fix or the solution. I have had to contact Home Depot 11 times to follow up with the order. The inspection took place on 10/31 and the Home Depot reps showed up at my home in Halloween Costumes, not the most professional dress code when you make an appointment with a customer who is not happy. But what the heck it was Halloween. It is now Dec. 4th and we still are waiting for results. They said they are replacing 23 items but no one has followed up with how it is going to be replaced, I had to chase them down call and show up to the store to talk to store manager (Chris). And guess who has to pay for the re-install? Issues included excess glue on finished cabinets, broken Frames, mismatched styles, incredibly poor stain or lack of, and mostly the wood (Maple) is probably "seconds". Our doors do not look anything like the in store samples or kitchen display. My order might be a "one in ten" situation, but the lack of follow up and the few replacements that are being delivered (we are receiving some of the replacement parts in separate deliveries over the last two weeks. This is nothing short of Consumer Fraud as in bait and switch.

"Very Disappointing!"
Ordered a bathroom vanity by AW from HD and when it arrived the stain was only partially done on the ends and one of two false drawer fronts had been installed out of level by 1/8" and with a damaged corner. It took three attempts to get a passing replacement piece (thanks to HD staff for their patience and persistence) that we then had to install ourselves after paying over $600 for a simple box. not worth the money and trouble!

Please beware when you think about ordering. We are going on 2 months and 3 times trying to receive all out cabinets without damage. Every time we thought this is it we can finish our kitchen either we yet again received damaged or wrong size cabinets. Still waiting since August 30th my contractor is losing patience! The reps at Home Depot have been very helpful but this is ridiculous!

"Poor craftsmanship and value"
I purchased my cabinets almost 2 years ago from Home Depot. We purchased the Shaker style doors in Expresso. When they arrived, we noticed that the stain did not go all the way into the cabinet door edges. We complained to Home Depot and American Woodmark sent out another whole set of doors. We complained also about the rough edges on the insides of the doors and that you can see the light wood underneath. We were told that this was normal. This summer, we noticed that the stain on some of the cabinet doors was literally coming off. We called Home Depot and they sent over the American Woodmark rep and one of their kitchen dept employees. The rep took pictures and said that he had never seen the stain come off like ours. So he said he was going to report it and send us new cabinet doors. This is our 3rd set of doors. We told the rep that we want Home Depot, to come out to install the new doors because we paid to have the 2nd set of doors to be installed. We heard nothing thus far.

"Horrible Cabinet"
I went to Home Depot and spoke with the designer my contractor recommended and asked for Thomasville. I was talked out of Thomasville and talked into American Woodmark. What a mistake. To describe the product in 2 words "They Suck". The door stain was poorly done and made them look cheep and these cabinets were not cheap. Almost all the doors were damaged that a factory representative and the home depot designer had to come and see for themselves. The polishing cloths used to clean them would stick to the doors because the wood was so ruff and not sanded properly. It appeared the factory did not use a better quality cherry wood. Almost every door had to be changed and it took a month before they were delivered. Even the replacement doors came damaged and my contractor had to order another replacement for the replacement. Still waiting. Three months after they were installed I am still finding small defects in the craftsmanship such as small cracks and split wood on the cabinet frames. I would not recommend these cabinets and if you go to Home Depot don't let them talk you into buying them.
