Cuisinart Wine Cabinets
Cuisinart® sells two home-sized wine cabinets, the CWC-600 and the CWC-900. The smaller cellar has a 6-bottle storage capacity while the larger model can store up to 11 bottles. Both feature technology that keeps the units quiet and vibration free.
Both models can be placed on a counter or bar and have eight temperature settings for storing both red and white wines. They feature an interior light and stainless steel doors. The adjustable chrome racks allow storage of both 750ml and 1500ml wine bottles. The double-paned window lets owners see their collection, while the tinted glass protects it from invasive sunlight. An LED display helps to monitor the internal temperature.
Cuisinart wine cellars come with a limited 3-year warranty.
A Brief History of Cuisinart
Carl and Shirley Sontheimer founded Cuisinart in 1975. Praise from world-renowned chefs helped make the brand a household name.
In 1988 the Sontheimers sold their company to an investment group, which in turn sold it to the Conair Corporation in 1989. In 1998 Conair purchased the Waring Products Division of Dynamics Corporation of America. Cuisinart continues to develop new high-end small appliances and other kitchen tools.
Consumer Reviews of Cuisinart
A review on Amazon.com gives this wine cellar four out of five stars, describing it as a "stylish, compact unit".
A reviewer on ePinions gives the CWC-600 only 1 of 5 stars, saying that it cycles on and off too frequently, and that it was "noisier than my full-sized side-by-side refrigerator". A second reviewer on ePinions gives the larger CWC-900 4 out of 5 stars, although they cite two problems: the unit has "all these useless preset settings" and "the fan is very loud and is almost always on".
