Litton Stoves
The Litton brand is owned by the Maytag Corporation, which no longer produces appliances under this name. Used Litton appliances are still available through individual sellers.
History of Litton
Charles Thornton formed Litton Industries in 1953 as a manufacturer of electronics, mainly for the defense industry. They eventually expanded their production and began offering consumer goods such as microwave ovens. In the late 20th century, the company divided into two - one as a manufacturer of commercial products and the other as a producer of military goods. Within the commercial company, Litton Moffat was the division that manufactured microwave ovens.
In 2001, Northop Grumman acquired the defense-oriented Litton company. The consumer company now belongs to Maytag.
Parts and Repair Information
Parts for and repair of Litton appliances may be difficult to obtain, as they are no longer in production. Local service providers who specialize in repair of electronics may be able to service a Litton product.
