"Worst"
I moved in to a new apartment and this is the piece of garbage they had there. I was told after complaining to management that it was brand new. If this is a new dishwasher I can't imagine what an old, used one would be like. It is trash, garbage and I hope no one ever buys one of these

Love this dishwasher! I live alone and it totally meets my need. Not noisy and looks nice, too. Highly recommend.

"Preferred my old Hotpoint"
Had 2 Hotpoint DW in the past and always been very pleased, however disappointed with this. Much smaller inside. No countdown display. Economy is only 50 so to use efficiently you need the longest cycle 65°. Whatever programme used it's never properly dry when finished. Cycles are too long. Wouldn't recommend. Good points: very quiet and top tray lowers.

"Works Fine But So Noisy"
I wish I could rate this dishwasher "Somewhat Satisfied," because I do like the way it cleans, and the racks are easy to load. But am actually "very unsatisfied" because of the noise level and extremely loud banging noises it makes. It's brand new and came with the new-construction house we just bought, but we will be replacing it as soon as we can afford to.

"My HotPoint Dishwasher, Reliable but Hard on Dishes"
I have owned my HotPoint dishwasher for just over 5 years now ever since I had to replace my last one. The first thing I really noticed when I started to use my new dishwasher was how much cleaner it got my dishes. The water was heated to a high temperature and the water jets sprayed the dishes strongly, making even the greasiest of dishes clean. At the time it was released included some inventive new features, like the water saving short wash cycle. It gets the job done and I have never had to get it repaired in all the years I have had it. The negative sides of the HotPoint dishwasher is that it some times cleans to well for more delicate dishes. Light plastic bowls or cups can get warped by the higher than normal water temperatures the machine achieves and the high pressure water spray has chipped a few of my ceramic wear. This machine has worn down even dishes labeled as dishwasher safe. In the end though as long as you are careful with what you put into the washer the machine works great. You may have to wash the more delicate dishes by hand but at least you can count on the Hotpoint to get the really dirty pans clean. I might buy this machine again, if my current one ever breaks down but I would hope that a newer model had fixed some of the issues that plagued this one.

"Be sure they're already clean."
When I moved into my apartment six months ago, I was leery of the age of the appliances, as in so many places they can be ancient. I was assured that while not new, the appliances were all in functional condition. I was also informed with a smile that the Dishwasher, in particular, was nearly new - replaced the previous year. Reassured by this, as well as by the clean and dent-free look of the unit, I stopped worrying about it. It's a new dishwasher, so it must be in good working condition, right? Unfortunately, wrong. The exterior has a nice look, and while not huge the interior is definitely not the smallest I have ever used. When running, the soap tray does release the catch on the door to dispense the soap. The Hotpoint may have been new, but "working" is about the best accolade I can ascribe to this unit. The heating element in the dishwasher warms water, but it never gets hot. Dishes need to be loaded already mostly clean - and then, I don't really trust the machine to be doing the disinfecting job I'd like. Any food particles left on dishes get swished around by the water jets, and are left to stick to other dishes loaded onto the racks. The heated dry option works beautifully - at baking those food particles onto absolutely everything. I talked to the apartment complex, but after looking at the unit, and giving it a test run, they determined it was working just fine. It Runs. I guess for these machines, that's as good as it gets. As the problems here seem to be expected by those who have handled dozens of the machines, are not caused by age, and are incredibly frustrating, I would never recommend this brand to a friend. And I will never buy one for myself.

"Basically you get what you pay for!"
I purchased a hotpoint dishwasher about 5 years from RC Willey during a sale. I thought "wow" what a deal I'm getting, a $200 dishwasher! After getting it home and using it, this machine makes so much noise during its cycles. We had to rearrange our dishwashing time because we couldnt hear the tv in the living room. After a year and half it started leaking at the bottom and had a seal replaced on the inside of the door for $75. Even though its a couple hundred dollars cheaper than most dishwashers, spend the difference so everynight it wont seem like there a storm in your kitchen. I wouldnt recommend or admit to a friend I own such an inadequate item.

"Attractive No Frills Dishwasher"
My Hotpoint dishwasher has a sleek black front and generally looks very nice in my kitchen. However, it doesn't perform as well as I'd like it too. It has a heated dry setting and it usually does not successfully dry anything. Also, it seems to accumulate an icky buildup at the bottom of sediment. It performs as good as I would expect a mid-range dishwasher.

"Dishwasher Review"
I have owned my dishwasher for about six months now and for the most part I like "Hotpoints" brand of dishwasher. I like the fact that it has many settings and then I can just put a detergent baggy in and start it up and wait until it is finished. I don't like the fact that I have to somewhat wash off the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. I also don't like the fact that it uses quite a lot of water. Normally, I buy environmentally friendly appliances and this dishwasher is not. If I just put dishes in without a pre-rinse, they come out a little bit dirty once the dishwasher is done. I have never had to repair it. I would definitely buy this brand again and would recommend it to all my friends. I would especially recommend this dishwasher to anyone with a new home or apartment because it is very space efficeient.

"My dishwasher does its job"
I don't actually own this dishwasher. It came as a part of apartment that I am currently renting. I've been here seven months and it is the first dishwasher I have ever had. I have to say that I really love having a dishwasher. It keeps the clutter of dirty dishes hidden from view, increasing the aesthetic value in my kitchen. It is also a lot quicker and easier than cleaning dishes by hand. That being said there are some features about this particular machine that are not ideal. First it tends to leave a film on my dishes, which is gross. (I don't use Jet Dry which would help.) It also sometimes fails to completely clean the utensils. Finally, the bottom rack is kinda cheap and rolls out on wheels instead of on a rail system. Benefits of this model are its ability to clean tightly packed plates, it has lots of room for utensils and glasses. It also has never required repair or replacement. In conclusion, it's a satisfactory machine but I would buy a better brand if I were to purchase one.

"Started out great, ended bad!"
We have had our dishwasher for 10 months now and it worked great up until about a month ago. For the first 9 or so months of ownership I was impressed with this unit and the different settings you could choose on it. You can select a "Hot Prewash" option, heavy wash, normal or light. It even has a water saver option and just a rinse cycle (not sure who would just rinse dishes, but it is there if you need it). The dishes always came out clean which is the most important feature. In the last month or so we have noticed the plates coming out very dirty on the back and the glasses looking like they are covered in soap. The dishwasher has continued to get louder and louder every time it is used. Not sure if it's worth calling a repair man or just getting another dishwasher that is a little more expensive. I must say I am really disappointed in this unit and only getting 9 months of good use out of it. In the future Hot Point will not be considered for our next dishwasher.

"Decent Dishwasher for its Class"
I have owned this dishwasher for about 3 years now. When I bought it, it was brand new but an older model. I have had better ones in the past, but this one does do what it is supposed to do, for the most part. My biggest complaint is that the little detergent dispenser door. It sometimes takes several tries to close it. Usually, the latch does not hook together but occasionally, the handle is stuck in place and does not move. Also, there has been multiple times when I have opened the dishwasher door after running it through the entire cycle and that same detergent door is still shut with the detergent inside so my dishes are not clean. Another frustration of mine with this dishwasher is the time it takes to run through a whole cycle. It takes around too hours, which, in my opinion, is too long for a dishwasher to run. However, when it is working properly, it works great. For the most part, it washes all the soap off the dishes. With other dishwashers there is almost always detergent residue left on my dishes, so I really like that it rinses them well. I probably run my dishwasher 5-6 times a week and it has held up pretty well. Even the racks are not worn out from me squeezing my dishes in there all the time. Overall, it seems pretty durable and of decent quality. There has been no repairs made to it and I expect it to stay that way.

"Hotpoint Doesn't Do It For Me"
I've had the thing for almost two 2 years now. To a certain extent, the dishwasher does what it's supposed to do. It does wash the dishes for me. However, it leaks water on the kitchen floor sometimes. Even worse, it doesn't wash the dishes properly and leaves deposits in some of the glasses. This makes me want to hand-wash those particular glasses which defeats the whole purpose of using a dishwasher in the first place. That's the most frustrating part of it. I always wanted to get someone to take a look at it but I never seemed to have the time or money to do it. I don't really need a fancy dishwasher either. One that works is just fine for me. I probably need to just buy a better one. Maybe I'll get one of those brand name units - something like GE or Frigidaire.

"Hotpoint 3400"
We own a Hotpoint HDA3400G02CC dishwasher; have to say thus far it's been quite the machine, despite the fact there has been many issues with the incorrect hose installations between the water discharge outlets from the machine to the sink. That being said I would pose the machine as being affordable and reliable considering the overall ranking of the brand. We have owned this dishwasher for about 7 years now; as we purchased it right before we moved into our brand new home in the suburbs. Some of the pros and cons are as follows: Likes: • Dial simplicity; this goes well with the wife as it is user friendly • Usability of washing trays; as they are easy to pull and push with the wheels Dislikes • The size of the dishwasher; could be bigger; as in usable square inches of usable volume for dishes • Could use less water; maybe with the technological advances with jet cleaning; somehow use jet air with water, rather than just water. However, I imagine that may come with a higher end product than a lower/middle of the line product. After the likes and dislikes of this dishwasher I would have to say that we probably wouldn't buy this type of machine because of the amount of water it uses and the overall size of the dishwasher. I can't imagine that its eco friendly, electricity wise, so we would have to go with a dishwasher that is eco friendly and that consumes fewer resources such as water, soap and electricity. I did state that the dishwasher is reliable, ect. But I am also saying that being eco conscious carries a heavier sense of prevalent responsibility as a consumer. Hence, the underlying decision in not recommending is based on the consumption factor and not the overall build.

"I Really Hate My Dishwasher"
I have had this dishwasher for the last month and a half and I totally hate it! It is one of those dishwashers that come in an apartment and is apparently cheap. For the first couple weeks I hand washed my dishes because I was skeptical about using an old dishwasher. Then one day I had a pile up so I considered the dishwasher and changed my mind. That was one of the worst decisions I have made since I moved into my apartment. The dishwasher is loud and annoying. It barely washes the dishes and cannot remove any stains. I had to take the dishes out and hand wash them due to the fact my dishwasher could not do the job. I hate the fact that my apartment has old appliances and I regret even trying to use the dishwasher in the first place. I would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone at all.

"not complaining"
I have had the dishwasher for about six months, it has a good capacity, however; it does not make good on some of the feature that is claims to have. such as 100% filtration and some kind of food disposal built in. I would not buy this brand again due to its unreliability. We did have some problems with the electronics in this brand and had to get a replacement part due to a factory error.
