Whirlpool Refrigerators

Whirlpool has a full line of side-by-side refrigerators, freezer-on-top, freezer-on-bottom and compact refrigerators. Whirlpool markets its refrigerators under the "Whirlpool", "Whirlpool Gold", and Estate brands. Whirlpool also sells one freezer-less refrigerator, called the "All-Refrigerator". Whirlpool also markets a line of standalone freezers.

Many, but not all, of Whirlpool's refrigerators have earned an Energy Star rating for energy efficiency.

Whirlpool's History

The Whirlpool Corporation was founded in 1911 by the Upton Brothers: Louis, Frederick and Emory, and was originally named Upton Brothers Machine Company. In 1948, the Upton Brothers Machine Company changed its name to the Whirlpool Corporation. Whirlpool is a publicly-owned company (NYSE:WHR) headquartered in Michigan.

Warranty

Whirlpool's warranty varies based on the model and features in question, but generally provides at least a one-year full parts and labor warranty. The sealed refrigeration system (including the compressor) generally carries a 5-year warranty.
