"Owner and sucker for buying this pile of junk"
I have had this Whirlpool refrigerator service twice while on warranty. Still cannot maintain accurate freezer temps. The freezer ranges from -5 to +22. The service man said sorry. This is normal and the product is a piece of... And I believe the man... The refrigerator part is at least operating between 36 and 42 degrees. I will never buy or recommend Whirlpool to anyone. They know they make junk and yet they persist

"Don't buy"
We've had this side-by-side refrigerator for 4 years. The ice maker auger in the door dispenser rusted after less than a year. Whirlpool sent a replacement but it rusted too. Recently the ice maker stopped working due to broken wires at the bottom of the door going from power supply to ice maker in door. They've been repaired 3 times in the last 2 months. It is a well documented fact that the wires in the harness are too short, causing them to break. Whirlpool wouldn't do anything but send a repair technician at our cost. Don't waste your money. It's too bad, because I love the amount of space in this unit.

"Very Good so Far"
Prices for this frige were within $20 at all the stores. We bought a Lowe's because of 5% discount on their credit card. There were some negative reviews about this model. Noise, problems with bin removal and doors not staying open. The only objectionable noise was as the ice tray was filling and only lasted a few seconds. The compressor is quiet. We had no trouble removing the lower bins. The doors on ours stay open just fine. I suspect how level the floor is and how the doors are adjusted is a factor. It was left to us to remove the wrapping and packing. This took a full hour. The sides of the stainless door model are gray. Okay with us although black would be like our old stainless door Frigedaire. The bins roll in and out easily on bearings. The are 2 bright lights in the Fridge and 2 in the freezer section. The shelves are clear glass and makes it easy to see the food. The icemaker is slow to fill unless on the Fast Ice setting which lowers the freezer temp temporarily, making the icecream too hard. This model is 28.47 cubic feet. Larges that will fit a standard 36" wide opening. The door shelves are moulded plastic. This was a problem with our Frigedaire as they broke a couple times in the years we had it. Each shelf cost $21 - $46 to replace. We hope the Whirlpool will be more durable. Overall we are very satisfied with this model and would recommend it for it's quality and value.

"Plastic containers on door break"
The plastic containers on the door keep falling out and breaking and creating a mess. I have 2 that are cracked and broke, why is this happening. My previous refrigerator had plastic containers and they never broke. I will replace this refrigerator but not with a Whirlpool.

"Vintage Quality"
Our 20 cu.ft. French Doors, Bottom Freezer, Almond colored Whirlpool Refrigerator is only 34 (thirty four) years old and already the door seals are coming apart. The compressor runs very hot and sometimes has trouble starting. I'm afraid the ice cream will start melting if I don't replace this fridge soon. It saddens me to have to replace a fridge that's only half as old as I am. The new one will be a whirlpool also, since I don't think the other brands are any better.

"Pls don't Buy"
Hi Dear Friends. Don't ever buy any product of Whirlpool. They Service after warranty is very bad and cheating customers and taking Money and not doing the service and never respond the call if we call the customer service care, they say the technician will attend within 24 hrs that 24 hrs never come. The Product is okay at warranty period that is 1-year spending good money on that for one year only. Better to buy any unbranded for very low cost which will run at least more than whirlpool product.

"Poor service"
My parents bought a freezer 6 months ago and for the last two months it has not worked the serviceman has been out 3 times and not showed up the last time. So the freezer has not worked half the time they have owned it. Whirlpool customer service just makes excuses and then because they are wrong they get defense in the conversation instead of doing something about the problem. They take advance of people. My parents are elderly and need the freezer that they paid good money for to work. Why wouldn’t they a billion dollar company just replace this freezer instead of putting there Customers though all of this. I will never but a whirlpool product again.

"Popping sounds"
You know, the trouble with being cynical is you can't keep up. There is a fix for the annoying popping sounds this box makes when it's running...but I guess the Whirlpool co. Would rather Inconvenience the rest of us, by having us endure, and then return their product, and call it a day. There are too many reviewers out there, like myself, that won't put up with this. Just after purchasing this 25 cu ft "gold", it started this incessant popping that was random and constant. So, as luck would have it, surprise! I went searching and found another innocent buyer of said refer who recorded the same problem, and her experience with our great network of "brilliant" repairmen. Thank goodness Sears has a 30 day return policy... this one had one day to show me how little the industry cares about the consumer... there is a fix, and it's a simple one... but let's not bother with it and hope no one will have the energy and fortitude to fight back. Nice try.

"Poor reliability, Poor service"
I have a 3 year old refrigerator that stopped working. Called Whirlpool warranty and they cancelled a scheduled appointment and wanted to reschedule 2 weeks later. It ends up being a $1000 repair on a refrigerator I paid $1600 for.

"Horrible Product and Service"
Purchased a Whirlpool fridge with extended warranty and the fridge freezes the food and when I turn the temp down the food spoils. Cannot find a tech to look at it and neither can the Whirlpool service department. I was told they would reimburse me but I was on my own to find a tech. Called a spoke with a tech. 30 miles away and he said that "this problem" usually is because of food blocking the airflow. The only way I have been able to stop the freezing is by blocking the vents! I have had to duct tape one closed just to keep the food on that shelf from freezing. Total piece of junk and the service is non existent. Extended warranty a waist of money when nobody will come and look at the appliance!

"Repaired somewhat under warranty"
The first repair lasted about 1 year. The refrigerator is now out of warranty and I have had to have it repaired another 2 times and am now waiting for the repairman to arrive. When I called Whirlpool they told me that there have been no problems with this model. I will be looking for another refrigerator and it will not be a Whirlpool. I had also insisted it be made in America. It was but that didn't help. The refrigerator is 3 1/2 years old.

"Disappointed"
We bought a french door (4 drawers) refrigerator 2 years ago. The top doors do not shut like they should, you really have to make sure they are completely shut. The problem we have now is the ice maker. The ice maker has not ever made ice like it should. The ice does not distribute in the pan good so you have to make sure you move it by hand for it to continue making ice. Last week our ice maker stopped making ice completely. The repair man said we needed a new one. We had a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator for 12 years. The refrigerator was great, we only sold it because we wanted to update our appliances. I'm sure the people we sold that to is still very happy with it. I have since read so many complaints about this refrigerator, I am very disappointed in myself for not reading the reviews instead of thinking I could not go wrong because of our old refrigerator. I'm also very disappointed because Whirlpool obviously knows there is problems with this appliance and has not fixed this problem. I would not recommend anyone buying this product at all. We will probably never buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

"18.9 cu ft top freezer WRT3L9SZYB"
I bought this fridge 9 months ago. I picked it for size primarily - the largest I could get that would fit in the space where it had to be put. I picked it also for Tier 3, and Energy Star, and interior layout. I did not realize the door wasn't painted. It was covered with some kind of cruddy shiny shrinkwrap plastic. A couple of months ago it started peeling off. Whirlpool advised me that it wasn't covered by warranty because it was a cosmetic problem. What am I supposed to do about this? Slap tape all over the door as it's cruddy plastic cover peels off? In addition the kickplate was never attached to the front of the fridge, and I've since discovered it cannot be attached. When they delivered the fridge they didn't tell me the kickplate was just laid on the floor because they couldn't attach it. I am very disappointed by this terrible quality from whirlpool.

My whirlpool refrigerator failed after 2 years. Compressor is gone and relay is also gone. Called Whirlpool representative and they will do nothing to help us, they just said "sorry, sometimes this happens". That is just unacceptable! Will never buy another Whirlpool product.

This refrigerator failed after 3.5 years and will cost more to fix than it can be replaced for. Whirlpool does not honor their warranty. I will never consider a Whirlpool product ever again under any circumstances.

"Perfect for our kitchen!"
I have owned this refrigerator for two years and I am loving it! We have a very small kitchen with a soffit above the space for the refrigerator. This gave us a bit of a challenge when we were looking to replace our old refrigerator. I love that it doesn't stick out too far past my counter tops. This has given us more room to move around. It's a nice, bright white which matches the rest of our appliances. The price was also very reasonable for our budget. I love that I can adjust the shelves to meet my needs. My food has always been cold and my freezer stays very cold. They only problem that I have encountered is that food can become a bit frosty in the freezer if it is sitting up against the back. The capacity has been perfect for our family of four, that includes two children. I would suggest that if you have a larger family, you may want to consider a larger refrigerator.

"I love my Energy Star!"
I purchased this refrigerator three months ago, and I absolutely love it. We upgraded from a smaller Miele model which we bought before we had kids. With two young boys, we were definitely looking for something a little larger. The best thing about this refrigerator is that it doesnt have that oversized look that can dominate a kitchen. In fact, I didn't think it seemed much larger than other apparently smaller models. But the salesperson assured me that once I brought it home I would be shocked, and I was! I never have to remove items from my refrigerator or freezer to find what I want. The only bad thing about it is that its a little noisy when making ice. Noisier than my last refrigerator. However, I'd still recommend it to anyone. It hasn't needed any repairs yet, and hopefully it won't for a while !

"Whilrpool - A Reliable Name in the World of Refrigerators"
I'm very content with my refrigerator, and I would like to tell you why. The Whirlpool brand itself is a very reliable brand, and it always gets positive feedback, ranking among the best brand names in its field. Another big plus is its long lasting durability and quality service. I've owned this refrigerator for about 5 years now, and in all of that time, I've only had to run very minor maintenance on it, just to make sure everything is still in working order. These minor repairs have taken just minutes, and it's been more like 'making sure the light bulb is on' as opposed to ‘repairing it'. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about my refrigerator, and as such, I would recommend to a friend, or anyone really, in a heart beat, and if it came down to it, and I did need to replace it for whatever reason, I would definitely go with the Whirlpool brand once again.

"Whirlpool ED5VHEXVB00 Refrigerator Review"
I have owned a Whirpool ED5VHEXB00 Refrigerator for the past 2.5 years. For the most part, this is a good fridge. I have never had any issues with it breaking down and I have never needed to have it repaired. I really like that it has an indicator light to remind me when it is time to change our water filter. That's one thing I would have trouble remembering on my own. One of the biggest issues I have noticed is with the shelf above the vegetable drawer. I have to keep a small cutting board over the side adjacent to the freezer or else the items I keep there will freeze. I have tried adjusting the temperature, but the items inside become too warm. I also tend to run out of space, so if I were getting another fridge, I would be sure to purchase a larger one. I would buy Whirlpool again and I would also recommend it to a friend. I think that it is a quality brand.
