"Gibsons are the best"
We have a Gibson refrigerator that has been working for about 43 years, never any problems at all until a few days ago, it started to ice up in the freezer and the refrigerator isnt staying cold. The original problem started when it started to leak water in the back, then the hose in the back started to freeze over, then the inside of the freezer started to frost up pretty quickly, hopefully a minor fix, but regardless...best damn refrigerator i've ever seen!

"Don't buy a Gibson!"
Total crap! Could't make it any cheaper even if you hired a Nobel Laureate! Inside is made of cheap, thin plastic parts which crack, snap, or just fall apart. No matter how careful we were, the door racks constantly disconnect from the door which resulted in smashed bottles all over the floor. This happened so many times that, in anger, I pulled all of them off the door. So much for door storage! The ice maker doubles as a garbage disposal as if you get anything near it, it grinds it up and jams the entire mechanism. The storage drawer inside for deli stuff also collapsed so many times that it had to be also permanently removed. Finally, the exterior rusted badly for no good reason (very dry house) due to the totally crap finish. At the store you would never think that buying a refrigerator would lead to so many years of aggravation!

"Mr. & Mrs"
We have a Gibson 8 cubic foot chest style freezer that we bought in 1974 and it's still running and keeping everything frozen. We were just wondering what is the longest that anyone has ever said that they have owned a Gibson freezer that is still working

"37 and going strong"
I have a Gibson Eight chest freezer that was kept indoors from 1981-1983. Since then it's been in an unconditioned storage room and works like a champ. Due to the gasket having some wear, I do have to scrape out some ice from time to time, but it has never failed and keeps food at the same perfect temp. Hope they still make this quality when I need to replace it. Will definitely go to Gibson first! Never needed a bit of maintenance!

"Good machine"
Recently bought a new freezer. My old Gibson was just that, "old", but still running very well. I was not sure how old it was until we moved it away from the wall and on the back of the freezer was a sticker "Barry's Appliance Prineville Oregon" with a date of 8-2-1971.

"17 years and still running"
We moved into our house 17 years ago and we got a Gibson refrigerator and a Gibson clothes washer and Gibson clothes dryer. In all cases, these were the lowest priced appliances in the store. 3 kids and lots of laundry - the dryer quit after about 10 years and the washer finally died (pump went out) recently after 17 years and countless loads. Our Gibson refrigerator is still working fine! Besides a broken drawer and semi-broken rail in the door, it has performed and is still performing well for over 17 years. I am highly impressed and I would recommend Gibson to everyone!

"Best Fridges"
My old Gibson finally died and I was sold a Frigidaire, which is a piece of garbage. The Gibson frost free was reliable and bar one thermostat replacement, never gave me a bit of trouble in over 30 years! The Frigidaire is horrible and I'm looking for a good excuse to break it so that I can buy another fridge, NOT a Frigidaire! Wish Gibson still put out excellent fridges!

"The Cool Factor"
I have had this refrigerator for 2 months now and I cannot say that I am too impressed with it. The first time I opened the bottom door, the handle snapped right off. I had to use an industrial screw to put the handle back in and stay. The refrigerator does not have a defrost so every two weeks I have to take out everything from the freezer and chip the ice away. The door has begun to slowly dip down so now when I close the door I have to slightly lift it up to make sure it stays closed and that everything does not spoil in it. I'm not exactly sure how old the refrigerator is, but I don't believe I would ever recommend this brand to someone who was in the market for a new one. The only thing it does well is keep stuff cold, but that's after you take the proper steps to make that happen.

"Owner"
I just wanted to let you know that my mother still ownes and uses a Gibson refrigerator that came with the new home she and my father built in 1956. This refrigerator survived the rigors of 6 children and 2 adults; of course now, it has seen better days, but it is still running and keeping things frozen and cold. I also have a Gibson refrigerator, which had been purchased by a previous owner of my home. It is from the 1970' - it is Harvest Gold. And it is still working very well. I would like to replace it with another Gibson, if possible, when I remodel my kithen. I just thought you might like to know how well the Gibson appliances have worked/

"Lasts Forever"
I'm not sure who or when this refrigerator was purchased, but it has been in the Muskegon County Clerk's office long before I got here 10 years ago! Granted, it is not frost free, but has served us well. As we relocate, we will not be taking it with us but would like to find a good home for this amazing little refrigerator that has kept our lunches fresh for generations! I'm quite sure it is not energy efficient but think it might meet antique status??? The only numbering I could find on it is GD110504 and 07901593 but neither were identified as serial numbers.
