"Acceptable, but not outstanding, performance for budget wine refrigerator."
I bought this unit from Home Depot in 2009 (had it for 3 years, now). I already owned a kegerator from the same manufacturer, so my confidence was high. I liked the price, and the fact that I was able to buy it at my local store and take it home immediately. I like the space it provides, and the outward appearance. However, the unit does not get as cold as I'd like (it only reaches about 40 degrees) or as quickly as I'd like (it takes about a day to get there). The time it takes is important... if I empty it to clean it, it takes that long on its own to be usable again. Reading online reviews, I came to realize that this was just how this unit worked, and that it was not malfunctioning. I have not had to repair the unit, but I have also carefully maintained it, as indicated by the manufacturer. The energy efficiency is alright, but if I was to buy or recommend another today, I would recommend a different brand/model, and a more efficient model.
