"Beware"
I purchased Yorktowne cabinets 6 years ago after Hurricane Sandy destroyed my house. I purchased cream colored painted cabinets. Well after just 6 years they are wearing horribly. Stains, chipping the paint is wearing off you name it. I've bought many products for painted cabinets to clean them to no avail. My husband and I are seniors so I could only imagine what they would look like if I had small children. My neighbor who also had to redo her kitchen bought her cream cabinets at Home Depot and they are wearing much better than mine. Don't waste your money not worth it.

"Kitchen Remodel"
Great things come out of small disasters! Our pipe leading upstairs burst over our kitchen and for a while we were upside down. The opportunity was there to take down the wall between our dinning room which expanded the space immensely! Our designer did an amazing job with their timeless white finish. We went with a new navy blue finish on the island and it catches so many eyes when our friends are enjoying our space with us. <3 <3 <3

"Finally Updated my Kitchen!"
We were waiting a while to update our kitchen after moving into our new home and putting it off year after year. It was worth the wait we went with the sea salt finish and it still looks great a year later. We did have one door we replaced and we swapped it out and matched with no issue.

"Disappointed"
I trusted the contractor hired for a kitchen remodel to provide decent cabinets. The job was expensive and she gave positive reviews on Yorktowne cabinetry. Less than 2 years later, I'm very disappointed. Seams are opening up and very visible. These should be inexpensive cabinets but they are not

"Amazing product"
We were very reluctant to buy Yorktowne cabinets do to reviews we saw. Our designer assured us that he would not even offer the products if it would reflect poorly on him or his company. We trusted him and are so glad that we did. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our cabinets. They are sturdy, clean and well built. So glad we went with these over the big-box brand.

"Wish I read reviews before I bought"
This is my 4th kitchen I installed and the worst cabinets. I thought I was getting quality cabinets not the case. The finish wasn't consistent. I don't think they prepped the doors well before apply stain. Cabinet doors weren't the same size. They were off 1/16 of an inch. So they can't match up when closed. The panels for the refrig were sent the wrong size. When I got the new ones after the installers installed them I noticed that the panels weren’t the same size. The installers tried to adjust it but it was still noticeable to me and others. The representative had nothing to say about it. The garbage cabinet fell apart. Glass doors were scratched. Glue residue. Drawers aren't installed level. Dents. Pantry internal panel wasn't attached. I had the manufacturer rep and the person I purchased from here and was very disappointed with their excuses.

"Money v quality"
Higher end home: uneven staining throughout. Cheap feel for the cost, bubbling in antiquing areas. Would not recommend. And worse of all no customer service. Also have yorktowne hardware. Defective finishes through out. Again, no customer service responses.

"Great Quality! Good Price!"
I have been working with Yorktowne cabinets for over 5 years. They are an awesome line and a great price point. Custom cabinets are easy and their quality is top notch. Like all manufactured cabinets, there are mistakes that happen. Damage cabinet, or quality detail missed. With my experience with many different lines, Yorktowne from Elkay, has many fewer issues and quality up there with the premium lines.

"Very Pleased"
We just finished our first model home in the Yorktown cabinets. The finish is beautiful and the company has bent over backwards to be sure we were happy with everything. We custom designed an island which took some additional time, but the end result is magnificent and everyone who walks into the home is blown away by the quality and beauty of the cabinets.

"Great Results with Yorktowne Cabinetry"
I couldn't be any more pleased going with the Yorktowne cabinetry brand. I have done my own research on this brand and realized that the reviews I have read are from the previous company that owned Yorktowne. I had called the company to understand the confusion with the reviews I had read and to my surprise they have changed to a new factory in Minnesota. I was pleased to hear that and with the guidance of my cabinetry designer decided to choose this brand. I have had nothing but great results and I would like to recommend this product when choosing your next kitchen. I have read all reviews on all cabinetry brands and have realized that each company does have bad reviews but you need to do your own research before taking such reviews as sound. I have had no quality control issues or problems. The cabinets were delivered on time and no damage. I know the product is now being manufactured in Minnesota not the East Coast. I wanted to support the area in which I live. I'm extremely pleased with my decision and I know that others will be to.

"Color and fit is off."
We have had to send back for door replacements no less than 4 times. The color has been off. The fit for a sub zero panel has been off. The replacement color is wrong and after all the problems we are still made to wait in line for them to fix the problem. They don't seem to care. Their idea of a fix is to restain or paint in my home. I matched the paint for a small cabinet of my own by going to Benjamin Moore.

"Yorktowne 2014"
Yorktowne has been a part of the Elkay Co for a number of years. They have completely changed their line and it is a very nice product. It offers several levels of construction and options. I purchased this brand for my kitchen remodel. I was made aware by my dealer (Kitchen Cabinet Factory Outlet) about the lead time and it came as expected. I had no issues with the cabinetry and my sister has just recently installed her Yorktowne kitchen and she loves it...she chose a less expensive cabinet than I did, but it is very beautiful.

"Disappointed Over Time"
As time has passed, we have not been thrilled with our Yorktowne cabinets. First, the whites on many of the drawer faces have changed to a crème or vanilla color. Then the inner wood frames changed to a different color. Finally, about half of the hinges have had a plastic piece break off so that the cabinet does not close properly.

"Avoid at all costs"
We put in Yorktowne cabinets a few years ago, and have had nothing but trouble! The shelves are sagging (and, no, they're not overloaded), the hardware is garbage and has had to be replaced several times, and they are now literally coming apart at the seams! Yes, we were on a tight budget when doing our kitchen, so I didn't expect high quality cabinets, but I did expect them to last more than a few years. My advice? Don't waste your money! These cabinets are garbage!

"Biggest mistake of my home remodel"
Supposedly Yorktowne was a good, solid cabinet when made in Lancaster co Pa. Moved plant to va and now to Minnesota. Unfortunately I got caught in their bad time. Ordered most upgraded quality with premium paint finish. (Approx 50 door/drawer fronts spending $43k excluding installation!) Cabinet finishes were horrible! Rough finish. Missing paint on finish. Dings in cabinetry. Trim on shelves inside cabinets all rough and splintery. No wuality /quality control before they were shipped. Salesman worked with me to get Yorktowne to replace 17 doors. Then they sent a professional refinisher to fix other problem spots. (This took 5 months!) I look at the finish everyday and get sick to my stomach. This was my one shot at a new kitchen. I've been In My house 6 mos. Can't imagine what cabinets will look like in 5 yrs! Stay away from Yorktowne!

"Love my new Yorktowne cabinets"
I'm at the tail end of a kitchen renovation and installed new Yorktowne cabinets. Very happy with the quality (I did go with the upgraded Premium series) and my contractor was as well. Cabinets were built and delivered on-time and there was only one filler which was the wrong size and quickly replaced at no charge. I did not deal with the manufacturer directly, but their distributor was wonderful to work with. Their pricing was very competitive, no one else could touch them. My only comment is that the Yorketown "full overlay" isn't as full as some of the other cabinets I looked at; there's still a very slight gap between doors/drawers. It doesn't bother me, but it might bother others. Overall very, very happy and would definitely buy again!

"A Disaster In Every Box"
After Hurricane Sandy ravaged our home in the South Shore of Long Island, we were tasked with replacing everything from the flooring to the cabinetry. After receiving money from our insurance company and FEMA, we decided to go with Yorktowne because we believed at the time they were a reputable, domestic line. What a mistake this was. The majority of the solid cherry doors that were delivered were already cracking when we took them out of the box. The doors that weren't cracked didn't even appear to have the same color finish. After all was said and done, only half of the damaged materials shipped were replaced, and we are still extremely unsatisfied with the quality of our kitchen. Customer service at the company seems to be a joke, and our only recompense is knowing we will never order from such a backwards company again.

"Ten Reasons Not to Buy Yorktowne"
1. The finish is horrible. 2. The dealer sales people know it's junk but sell it anyway because they get kick back or "spiff" money from Elkay for every box they sell. 3. Really cheap grade of lumber #2 common in random widths. Your doors look like a checkerboard of small glued up pieces. 4. Exposed nails that stick out inside the cabinet between the face frame and side. 5. Exorbitant upcharges for plywood 16%, paint 15% self close drawer glides 164$ each set. You are GROSSLY overpaying when you add all of the "upgrades". Most other companies offer these same upgrades as standard. 6. They use a razor thin paper laminate inside the cabinet and on the exposed sides in their "standard" construction. 7. "Standard" drawer construction is a slap joint flake board drawer. 8. Really large sloppy 1/4" reveals between the outside edge of the face frame and the end panel. 9. Cheap shelf clips. 10. Really shallow drawers. Things are always getting stuck between the door and face frame. I could have listed twenty more reasons. If someone is trying to sell you this stuff steer clear. They are doing it for personal gain spiff money.
