"The painted cabinets do not hold up"
They obviously have a trend of painted cabnets that do not hold up even after the first year never mind after 3-5. They chip, peel and split. Yet a new bathroom vanity from a competitor looks great. They blame their poor workmanship on water damage as a standard blame the customer which is a absurd. It is a manufacutrering issue. I think they would have more complaints but the Contractors replace draw fronts to appease their customers. STAY CLEAR

"Very poor quality"
My cabinets are only 3years old and spent a lot of money on these cabinets. Only after 3 years, the paint is peeling off on the doors, drawers, island , they are a complete mess. I have to now spend more money to fix the mess. Do not buy DeWilis cabinets. They are a rip off.

"If your kitchen has water, Do not buy DeWils!"
After 3 1/2 years, my DeWils Cabinets, with DeWils Fashion Grey paint, are blistered and peeling down to bare wood. DeWils will not stand by their product, saying it is because my kitchen has water. Don't most kitchens have water? I wish I could include a photo. Absolutely no customer service once they have your money. My kitchen shop and I have even written the CEO and had no response.

"Stay away if you care about quality construction"
I'm too mad to write a cogent review do here are some of the features you can expect from dewils: Width of drawer and door in separate cabinets vary...get ready to split the difference and try not to notice the difference. Had to order one cabinet three times before they got the dimension right In a bank of three drawers one drawer was too tall to allow easy closing...reorder. Spice cabinet door warped. Can't get the dealer to order another. Are you listening dewils?

"Junk...and no one cares"
Our cabinets are only three months old and we are just about ready to replace them with something else. When you spend over $15,000 for cabinets which are supposed to be "of the highest quality" you expect them to last more than three months. Joints of the styles and rails are separating. Many "slow close" drawers no longer work. Doors are warping and they are binding up with others due to the joint separations. We have a "garage door" for our microwave/toaster and that door has never really worked well. The drawer for the trash bins has to be forced shut, and then it is out of alignment. The painted finish deteriorates when washed with soap. water, and a soft cloth as we were instructed to do. Biggest issue is the total lack of response from the company. I have made multiple calls without any compassion on their part. Basically they say, "You bought them, you deal with it." I sent a letter with photos to the president of the company and got no reply. I emailed video and photos, and still no reply.

"Paint does not last"
I remodeled my farmhouse kitchen in 2012, installing Dewill's white painted cabinets. The boxes themselves are beautifully constructed with dovetailed maple. The painted fronts have been a nightmare. Within the first 18 months I noticed joints separating beyond normal expectation, followed by cracking and chipped paint. It appeared there was no primer and only one coat of paint applied. Dewils rep came and looked and explained they hadn't figured out their formula yet. They replaced about 12 fronts. In 2016, the same thing happened and I had about 10 fronts replaced. Within 18 months the same issue was occurring, especially near my sink, stove and dishwasher. Understanding that these cabinets receive more moisture and high use, the amount of cracked paint and gaping seams was disproportionate. The rep came back out but this time would not agree to replace under warranty. My dealer stepped up and paid to replace 7 cabinet fronts. I love the workmanship of the boxes but I warn anyone to rethink purchasing the white fronts, especially knowing the company may not uphold its warranty.

"Choosing a good dealer is the first step"
1st I am a DeWils dealer, and I also sell another brand. After reading a lot of the reviews, I can assure you that most of the issues are a direct result of the dealer not taking care of the customer. All cabinet brands have issues from time to time, but DeWils is, in my experience of over 30 years in construction, a brand that has far fewer issues than most. Anyone on the production line can stop work on a cabinet and send it back to be corrected; something that most brands that you find at the "big box stores" don't have. As a dealer it is my responsibility to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied with their cabinets and fix (some times at my own expense) any issues! Be sure that if you go with the lowest bid (and not an estimate) that someone isn't leaving out items that are needed, but also remember that wood is a natural product and it has defects, which is part of the beauty of wood. If you are worried about differences in the finish then go to a laminate or engineered surface. Above all, ask questions and ask around from more than one contractor or installer. A lot of installers (or dealers for that matter) have close relationships that may not be in an owners best interest. The last item would be that installation of the cabinets is only second to buying the cabinets. I have seen some horrible installs over the years that can make a good cabinet become out of square, damage the box and face, and even end up in warped face frames. I would love to plug my business, but I feel that would undermine the reason for this response, and good luck out there!

"Mistakes and lack of responsibilty"
I ordered Dewils for my kitchen and bath and they arrived a few weeks late but beyond that they are good quality cabinets with some minor issues and blemishes (bumpers don't stay on and some finish sanding and staining issues that I chose to ignore). My complaint is with the company itself and their lack of responsibility when they do make a mistake. Based on my kitchen/bath experience I decided to put built in cabinets in my closets. My closet openings are 28" to 29" deep and I wanted to maximize my storage so I ordered 27" deep cabinets; well my 27" deep cabinets show up with 21' drawers instead of the correct 24" drawers, the standard for a 27" cabinet. I brought the issue to the attention of my dealer and was assured they would look into it, long story short Dewils tried to tell my dealer that the next cabinet/drawer/hardware size was 30" box, 27" drawer/hardware, and that 24" hardware and drawers were not available. I supplied the dealer with the correct hardware part number for 24" drawers and asked that Dewils replace my drawers, the dealer came back to me and said no Dewils would not supply me with the 24" drawer - end of story. So now I've spent about $18k on this project and am out about 15 cubic feet of drawer space. My total orders with Dewils came to about $38k and I was going to buy additional cabinets for my laundry room from them but I won't give them any more money. In the end my dealer is going to replace my drawers and hardware at their expense but it has soured our relationship and that is directly Dewils' fault. My advice is to go to a company that pays attention to detail, owns and fixes their mistakes, cares for their customers, and works with their dealers to resolve issues.

"Shaker Door Style/Alder Wood/Just White Finish"
I ordered the DeWils cabinets from our Kitchen Designer and Contractor after they told me that they were their best quality cabinets. After waiting over 25 years for my dream kitchen, I wanted to make sure I didn't skimp on quality and got the best cabinets. After being installed for less than a year, the white finish on cabinets started to chip and crack in certain places, revealing the wood underneath. Additionally, the joints on the doors and drawers started to separate. I contacted my contractor, who contacted DeWils and after waiting several months, they replaced a few of the offending drawer fronts and cabinet doors. However, within a few months, the same thing started happening again. I don't think that they are well made, and it looks like they only apply one coat of paint, which does not last! I have not asked to have them come out and look at them again, because I fear the same thing will keep happening. I don't know what to do, short of replacing all door fronts and cabinet doors with another manufacturer, or paying someone to come in and fix them and repaint them all. I may try contacting DeWils or my contractor again to see what can be done, but needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in the quality and finish, and would not recommend the DeWils cabinets for anyone.

"Kitchen cabinets"
Our kitchen cabinets from DeWils arrived and we were very disappointed by the door finishes. They were streaked and blotchy. The sample doors displayed in the stores were beautiful and evenly stained. Ours were nothing like the samples. A DeWils customer service rep. came to our home, but offered to replace only seven of the 32 doors and drawer fronts. Sadly, we had to pay additional costs to get an even stain on a lesser quality wood. We would not order from DeWils again.

Review:
"Quality is how they hold up years later"
I feel compelled to comment because our experience with the quality of DeWills cabinets is so different! We chose the DeWills white thermofoil for our entire kitchen, having been told they were very durable and well- made. Yet, we have had serious problems related to their quality. Many of the cabinet doors and drawer fronts began to peel away from the underlying surface a few years after they were installed. The dealer we bought them from had gone out of business so we didn’t know what to do and let time go by. This year we finally have made contact with the company through a different dealer. We are still awaiting their final response but the first company rep told us it is unlikely that DeWills will stand behind any of our cabinets. Just want to warn others that the quality of cabinets is how well they stand up years after you buy them.

"Poor customer service"
I haven't received my cabinets yet however ever since I paid my deposit I have been extremely dissatisfied with their customer service. I placed an order and was very clear I am on a tight time schedule due to the upcoming birth of our child, I was promised an 8 week lead time. It has been 10 weeks and my cabinets are still not here. I have complained both to my sales representative and to customer service and am simply told an 8 week lead time (to them) means they have until 8 weeks and 6 days to ship my cabinets, making delivery closer to 10 weeks. They offered me no compensation, or expedited delivery or rush service. I can only imagine how terrible their customer service is going to be if there is a problem with the cabinetry when it arrives. I regret not going with our other bid for about the same price with a 4 week lead time and a friend who received her cabinets within that actual lead time and without excuses.

"LOVE MY CABINETS"
We chose DeWils cabinets 6 years ago when we built our house. We had many to chose from but these looked the best. They are in my kitchen, laundry room, 2 bathrooms and storage in my closet. I love these cabinets. I have not had any trouble with them and I would never buy any other brand if I had to do it again. You will be very happy with them. They have a large variety to choose from.

"Wonderful product"
Solid cabinet, color is exactly what I saw in the showroom. Have all drawers or pullouts on lower cabinets, all function as expected with even with heavy loads; dishes are stored in two drawers. Had an issue with woodgrain on two doors matching, manufacture replaced doors. After 4 years upper doors on 42" wall cabinets seem misaligned and can not be adjusted to fix. Would make the same purchase again.
