"Kitchen cabinets construction and installation"
Canac kitchen cupboards were installed in 2003. In 2021, a new countertop was installed by another company. Major deficiencies found: unlevel boxes, L-brackets used instead of screws to fasten wood, shims and wood pieces tucked underneath and behind the original countertop to cover the mistakes. A comment made by the installer of 2021: "This is the worst installation job we have seen." My installers today have had to level boxes, install brackets to support lower cupboards, and problem solve trying to correct Canac's mistakes. I would never, could never refer Canac Kitchens to other consumers.

Review:
"Good news and bad news about Canac Kitchen Cabinets"
Our Canac cherrywood kitchen cabinets were an upgrade feature when we built our home in the year 2000 in a large southern suburb. We selected a rich medium cherry Satin finish with satin nickel door pulls. Except for one recent incident of a drawer's joints needing repair (wear and tear), we continue to enjoy our choices for their custom look and utility: the coordinating desk and island, the easy- glide drawers, fixed and adjustable shelves, 6-way adjustable door hinges, and warm satin finish. We especially like the uneven architectural heights of the various upper cabinets because this enhances the visual interest and custom-quality look. Unfortunately, we have learned that Canac, which was formerly owned by the Kohler Company, has been closed by Kohler due to the downturn in the housing market. So, the good news is that, if you already own Canac cabinets or happen to purchase a home which features them, you will enjoy them. Otherwise, they are no longer available new and getting replacement parts may be difficult.
